The one star provided in the review is for the app experience, which is polished, fast, and functional.
Unfortunately, the essential service that the app provides is neither supported nor understood by Qahwah House staff, at least at my local store. My friends and I have used the app to order several times, and not once has an order been successful.
By this I mean: you can select an item, check out, pay, and then view tracking for your order - and the restaurant does nothing with it. Orders may as well be vague suggestions; walking in, the staff is always surprised that an order has occurred, and then surprised again that it is marked “ready for pickup,” and begin the order there. It is in essence actually slower to use this app than to just walk in and place an order.
An app is nothing without the structure it needs to make it function as intended: in this case, proper staffing and training.
