    Different State Fees

    I moved to a different state, but was amazed to find there are no fees for transactions or withdrawals.

    You can deposit checks through the app, which is surprisingly efficient and easy.

    Zelle makes transferring money person-to-person simple if you need or wish to. It’s free, no hidden fees.

    I can go to most any ATM without being charged and withdraw. The most I’m ever charged is $2, and that was years ago for looking up my balance (at the ATM). That, of course, was before I had this great app!

    I think if I withdraw through a bank where I am now I do get charged the standard $2 (?), but I’ve never tried, and stick to the ATM. Or debit/cash back when shopping.

    With so many ways, it’s never been a problem. And the rare times there is a fee from a bank they aren’t connected to, I know it’s much less than 1% of what you withdraw.

    Security

    There are multiple locks on the app itself, so it’s impossible for someone to steal. Even if your phone is grabbed or a ‘friend’ tries, they won’t be able to for multiple reasons which I won’t go into here.

    If the app itself suspects something is up, you get a call, or message. You may not be aware of it, the app/bank is just making sure. 👍 There’s layers of security you can add if you like.

    Customize it

    There’s many different ways to customize-such as putting a reminder on when your bank account gets to a certain low or high number-or other reminders, layers of security, privacy, alerts, notifications (of when specific or all kinds of deposits/checks/withdrawals go through), etc.

    So to wrap up, banking through First American has always been smooth, security is tight, and I wouldn’t think of changing banks.

    The staff are kind and knowledgeable (big shout out to John Gilligan, he’s absolutely wonderful!!! Give that man a raise!) I’ve been banking with First American nearly my entire life. I don’t know about you, but I-for one-plan to keep that up!👍
  • Bill Pay Portion of the App is Awful

    It occurred to me I could write a review since repeatedly contacting the bank about the app has gotten me nowhere. The phone app is completely useless for monthly bill pay, unless those bills are for the exact same amount and occur on the exact same date. If you need to alter a credit card payment or change a date, you cannot do it on your phone. I’m not even sure you can do it anywhere else. Why would an app prevent you from changing payment dates? The old version was perfect in this area. Been a customer for 25 years and this is the first time I’m frustrated with the bank.

  • It took an hour!!!

    To get into app and deposit a check. I was not making mistakes entering numbers but it gave me errors. Several people attempted to help me. They did not know what to do. Very, very frustrating.

    I don’t really care for this new update. I like we can just put our pin in and log right on. That is more convenient, but I hate how every transaction takes forever. The old version it totaled it right away and what the amount was said was what you had… I have to keep an extra eye on my budgeting because everything will be pending and says one total, then it clears and says another total and then a couple hours later there will be a different total with things pending again (even though I haven’t spent anything.) It’s frustrating to know what my actual total is and I make mistakes…so I feel I have to double and triple check what I have and it’s hard to do that if it’s not originally written down and my total keeps changing. Im not sure at this point what total to even go by to keep track of it since it always pops up something is pending. Plus they don’t have the little total under your transaction anymore and that makes it hard to back track what exactly I had previously before something was deposited or pending.

    Just my two cents.

    It would be helpful that once a bill pay was authorized it would appear in the balance otherwise needs to be remembered.

    This is the latest app first American has. I find it easy to navigate, fast app, and options change if need to be done. App is clean and easy to use. Highly recommended

    I love my First American account!!
    Have not had any trouble as I’ve had with other banking accounts.
