Favourite cafes, awesome views, useful cut-throughs… whatever you like. Add photos and text. They'll appear both in the app and on the cycle.travel website. Warning icons now appear for fords, ferries and border crossings. You can reverse your route with one tap, there's a "map lock" mode to avoid accidental swipes, and a new map key/legend. Plus a boatload of bugfixes and usability improvements.

We've fine-tuned the cartography to be clearer in rural and urban areas, to show more information when you're zoomed out, and to include more names - cycle routes, rivers and the like. You can now open a GPX track directly in the app and see it on the map. Plus bug fixes and little tweaks.

Turn directions are now clearer with clear arrows around roundabouts and complex turns. Plus we've pumped up the tyres and lubricated the chain to make the app run smoother (and squished a few bugs).

Follow a EuroVelo, National Cycle Network, or other signposted route easily with our new "Cycle routes" navigation mode. (Avenue Verte from London to Paris - why not?) Plus improved elevation display, and we've lubricated the app chain a bit (= fixed some bugs).

You can now download routes to your phone and access them offline. Plus super-clear mile/kilometre markers on the map to help you plan how far you're going that day. (And bug-fixes! Everyone loves bug-fixes.)

Save battery with turn-by-turn announcements even when cycle.travel isn't on your screen! Navigation now works in the background. Plus better directions for fords, knooppunten (cycle network nodes) and mountain summits, and a handful of bug fixes.

Full of new features based on your feedback and a few ideas I've been hatching. Better turn-by-turn announcements, with street names in the right language wherever you are. Choose a male or female voice. Turn arrows to help you navigate road junctions. Lock the map to "north up" if you like. Improvements to the basemap cartography. For supporters, the extra maps now appear in the main map view, not a separate window. Plus lots of annoying bugs zapped (and hopefully not too many new ones introduced).
