Fine for casual, not for professional
When you edit the metadata, the file copy becomes a jpg, regardless of whether the app settings are either to save the original (overwrite) or to save as a copy.
I was hoping that I could add metadata on-site during a shoot directly to the RAW photo and still be able to upload the RAW photo later on with metadata, but this app won’t do that. So I took two stars off, since the app description lists features for professionals.
For casual/consumer use I would give it 5 stars, it does what it says on the tin.
Response from developer
Thanks for the fair review. What you say about RAW photos is totally correct. When an app wants to modify a photo in iCloud's Photo Library, Apple requires us (developers) to do it as a jpeg. Until now, no professional photographer has contacted me about this, even though I knew about this issue. I guess it depends on the workflow each person has. The photographers I have spoken to (coincidentally all photojournalists so far) seem to do the metadata as the last step of their workflow. So they already have the edited photo as a jpeg, and they don't care if Metadata Editor can only output a jpeg. In your case you do the metadata first and obviously you cannot edit the RAW photo afterward. I will start working on finding a workaround for this. If you want me to email you when I have a working version of the app, please send me an email to metadataeditor_support@andrespiza.com
Money grab
Location editor
I added tags to the image then tried searching for it in my gallery nothing showed up
Response from developer
When you are editing the location of a photo you are not only limited to your current location. You can move the map around until you find the desired location. In future releases we will include a search bar to directly search for locations. Regarding the tags or keywords, sadly at the moment there is no official API provided by Apple that allows us to modify the tags or keywords that are visible in Apple's Photos app. If you have additional questions or feedback, you can email me at metadataeditor_support@andrespiza.com

Misleading
My issue is they imply you can do some things without sharing your data and credit card with them, so you can decide on your own if this is something you want to use, but the fact is you can't do anything. When you try, a window, asking you to purchase, pops up.
I deleted it and heading to their competitor.
Response from developer
Thank you for your review. I apologize for any confusion caused by the way the app is advertised. The app is free to download and you can view the metadata information of any photo, but editing features are reserved for paying users. Trying to access a editing feature shows the paywall screen, where you are offered a free trial during which you have full accesss to all features. I do specify in the App Store description that the app is free to download but that some features are for paying users only. I use Apple's in-app purchase system, meaning that it is Apple who handles all the payments. I do not have access to your credit card information, or any other personal or identifiying information. I regret that you have deleted the app and you decided to use our competitors. I hope you come back in the future, as I continue to update MetadataEditor and add new features. If you have more feedback, write me at metadataeditor_support@andrespiza.com
Waste of money if you want time stamp removed
Response from developer
I believe you wrote a support email about this issue, but I received no response to my answer about this topic. The app can remove the date from the metadata but it is not possible to remove the date from the file itself. This is a limitation from all operative systems, where every file needs to have a date. I will make this clearer inside the app in future versions.
Metadata for time keeps changing.
Response from developer
Sorry to hear you are having trouble. I believe you send a support email but I haven't received an answer to my response. If it was not you, please write me an email to metadataeditor_support@andrespiza.com as I want to help you and fix any bug you might have found.
No muestra nada de ubicación
Response from developer

IPTC Informations don't show!
Hope this can be fixed so I can batch edit captions in photos!
Response from developer
Thank you for your review. Sadly, Apple does not provide us developers with an API to read the content of the caption of a photo, so I can't show it in the app and therefore you cannot edit it. If you have any more feedback, please send an email metadataeditor_support@andrespiza.com to help make the app better for you 💙 Thanks!
