Z League’s app is finally here. Having started playing Z League in Oct 2020, I’ve seen a lot of changes and this apps main focus helps make things easier.
Pros on the app I’ve seen this far:
—great for managing the core tournament sign up experience
—push notifications for invites and tournaments starting (curious if it is smart enough to know my start time in flex tournaments)
—app doesn’t sign me out often like website on safari does
Really, these are a huge win already and I’m not sure my cons really matter.
Cons:
—no arcade mode?
—promo codes still not linked to accounts, I delete or never check emails, would be nice to know when I got one upon checkout
—website still required for full access to features (stats/store/challenges). I don’t use these everyday, but would be nice to have in one place.
—history of tournaments seems to be limited, I’ve played a dozen events in a day and don’t often check scoreboard until all of them done, would be nice to see them all in the app and maybe even have ability to filter or search through them.
Neutral opinion/feedback:
—mobile first? Does the app mean Z League will move away from their website and go here?!
—I wish they would explain why Warzone scoring seems delayed a little better. Especially somewhere in the app. I’ve played with a lot of first timers and if you’re around their discord for a few minutes you can find out that they are technically limited by when the game fully finishes 15-20 minutes later, so those hot drops could take longer to show up than that 20 bomb dub.
—that Halo scoring is lightning fast!!
—more uses for credits, curious what a zleague battle pass would look like
—allow for teams to score if someone isn’t able to show up; I.e. sign up for a trios with duos and play trios no-fill; assuming you can ensure someone is not able to queue with a smurf third then drop that account in pre-game lobby
—would be cool if someone was live streaming their tournament, to allow me to view in app
—league of legends coming soon?? Haven’t played in a while, but very curious
