  • Another app you need to pay for

Unfair to pay without knowing what you are paying for.
  • It’s a recipe app and only a recipe app

What a disappointment. I started the Wahls Protocol a week ago. For $15/month, I expected an app like this to allow me to have a database of foods that I could check to be sure they’re within plan and a food diary to log what I’m eating and make sure that I’m hitting targets for a day. Instead it’s only about the recipes. I could only plan when to eat and shop for the recipes in the app. Useless as a subscription and insanely overpriced. Canceled.

  • Ok but can’t add recipes or food

The recipes are amazing. There are errors in the recipes. One described hardboiling an egg, but there was no egg in the ingredients. My biggest issue is the inability to add foods. While there are some single foods, it is missing a lot. For instance, I had a plain sweet potato. I couldn’t add it because it did not come up on a search. There are tons of sweet potato recipes, but you should be able to add a plain sweet potato. That is just one example. I couldn’t add just liver either. Basically, if you don’t use the recipes in the app, you can’t track.

Hello, thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts and experiences with the Wahls Diet App. We appreciate your feedback and want to address the concerns you've raised. We're delighted to hear that you find the recipes in the app amazing. However, we sincerely apologize for any confusion or frustration caused by errors in the recipes. We understand the importance of accuracy, and our team is committed to resolving these issues promptly. Regarding your concern about the inability to add certain foods, we want to clarify that the Wahls Diet App is primarily designed to provide a curated selection of recipes aligned with the Wahls Protocol. It is not intended to function as a general food tracking app. We intentionally restrict users from adding foods and recipes to ensure strict adherence to the Wahls Protocol. This decision is rooted in two crucial reasons. First, the Wahls Protocol is specific about what foods are allowed to support individuals managing MS symptoms effectively. Second, the recipes and foods featured in the app undergo a rigorous evaluation process, including compliance with the Wahls Protocol and thorough nutritional analysis. Our team ensures that the foods and recipes within the app are not only compliant but also meet the high standards necessary to support your health and wellness goals. This meticulous approach helps us maintain the integrity of the Wahls Diet App and ensures that users are presented with options that align with the core principles of the Wahls Protocol. We understand your desire to track additional foods, such as a plain sweet potato or liver, and we appreciate your input. Please be assured that we take customer feedback seriously, and we are actively working to enhance the app's features while maintaining the strict standards set by the Wahls Protocol. Thank you for your understanding and for being a part of the Wahls community.
  • Hmm

Who would really want to eat ‘bacon grease’ as a breakfast recipie?

It’s a nice idea but missing essential things and confusing to navigate.

It also really needs a daily carb tracker to be usable, as keeping under 50g is an essential part of ketogenesis.

It would also be much better if your ingredient preferences saved and didn’t reset each time you search for a new recipie.

  • Does not work

As the other reviewer commented, app just hits a wall, can’t do anything with it
  • Not worth the price

I have looked at several breakfast recipes. The often contain bananas which are not encouraged on the Wahls diet and are only to eaten after all the other nine cups of vegetables and fruit. Also, I number of recipes contain oats. The book indicated that they are not allowed. I’m canceling my subscription. Not worth almost $40 for 3 months.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. Dr. Wahls does allow bananas after the appropriate vegetable intake, and we are not able to determine if you follow that advice. Oats are allowed in the non-gluten grain, limited amount category. Please let us know if you need assistance. We are happy to help you in any way we can. Our goal is your improved health.
  • This app is not free

This app is listed as free, with in-app purchases, but you literally can’t even do anything more than watch the intro and set up an account before you have to pay for a subscription. Nothing about it is free.

  • Less than what I expected

I was excited when I opened the app, because it asked how many people I am cooking for. I thought the recipes might be able to be tailored to the amount of servings that I would want. Also, I was hoping that there would be a symptom tracker or a diary page. It is definitely not worth the price they are charging.

  • Name level of recipe

App seems ok, only been using a few days. Only wish recipes would specifically state which Wahls level it is, this would be much easier to find what you need quickly. Such as grits is not at all Wahls level 3.
