A Must Have App

Squashtv is a simple, to use, navigate with full live matches, replays, highlights and much besides.
It is highly recommended.

So Glitchy

This is just as bad as the Squash TV website. Videos skip and hang up buffering. Matches can’t even be watched. Very frustrating.

Squash TV App

The app is great, I just wish it was available on AppleTV and/or Amazon Firestick because you really need a big screen to see the ball.

Hi there, thank you for the review. We'd love to get the app onto all Connected TV platforms, but unfortunately it's proving much more challenging than we initially thought. We aim to be available on AndroidTV by the end of the year, followed shortly after by Samsung and LG. We will then start looking at other platforms like Fire OS, and tvOS. Kind regards

Video UI Could Use Some Work

It is difficult to forward to a specific point in a video, so if you get interrupted while watching a 1 hour video you end up having to start over from the beginning. The AirPlay integration is also rather finicky - it takes multiple attempts to cast successfully. It would be an even better solution to have a standalone smart TV app, but lacking that, it should be possible to AirPlay more smoothly.
UPDATE: We have a Sony Bravia TV.

Hi Szilvia, thank you for the feedback. We will see what improvements we can get in for video tracking. We have recently had to change a few things around the video provider, which have caused a few issues, but mainly around the Chromecast. We aren't able to replicate any Airplay issues though, could you let us know what device you are trying to Airplay to? Thanks

Where did Chromecast go?

On initial release this app had Chromecast in iOS. Between the Egyptian and Paris opens it disappeared. As someone with a Philips TV with Chromecast but not AirPlay this was the key new feature over using the website. Now the app also glitches out when switching between landscape and portrait and full screen. Please revert the change.

Hi there, we are aware of the missing chromecast icon after a recent update to the video SDK, we are urgently working to get this fixed, and will hopefully have an update out soon. Kind regards

15-20 fps dressed up as 60fps

Quality going downhill all the time, highlights getting shorter with less quality curation (not showing key points, editing off too quickly between points i.e disjointed viewing experience), and the video quality isn’t smooth any more like it was a few years ago. And no, there’s no video quality options in the app, no preferences at all in fact besides “do you want notifications”

If only they focussed on hiring appropriately capable editors and video producers who knew how to make professional content as much as they do artists to create fancy new logo branding. SquashTV’s priorities askew methinks. Cancelled my subscription until they sort this out.

What happened to Chromecast support in iOS?

On release this app had Chromecast on iOS. This is the biggest feature upgrade over the browser version for me with a Philips TV with Chromecast but not AirPlay. Finally I could easily watch Squash TV on my TV. Then between the Egyptian Open and the Paris Open Chromecast disappeared! Now in addition the app seems to flake out when switching between portrait an landscape and full screen etc. Please revert the changes!

Needs work and more stability

This app is so painful to use, it constantly logs me out multiple times whilst trying to watch matches. Then when you click on replays etc the videos do t load. I love squash and love watching the matches live using this app but it’s incredibly frustrating at times.
