  • What true wellness is

I’m blown away by the design of their soundscapes that take you on an incredible journey of self awareness. This is wellness for your inner world, which in turn leads to your outer world. This is the kind of app you want to tell everyone about.
  • Promising But Not There

Promising, has some good sound mixes, but they need to go back to the drawing board.

Their app is 3 parts and they haven’t made all three parts world class. (1) design and UX of app, they nailed this. It’s amazing. (2) soundscapes or sound mixes that help take your monkey chatter brain offline, they have a few but limited nice ones but then the part (3) is rotating the soundscapes so you don’t hear the same ones over and again because in order to turn off the monkey mind it cannot be able to anticipate what is next.

I’ll break this sound rotation into a few parts (a) they seem to have tried this and know about adding fresh sounds and even change the timing of sessions so it’s not exact and (b) they attempted some new soundscapes recently but their newer one fundamentally fail to be soothing/ear candy, pique curiosity (which births visual imagination, or at least does for me, aka puts your mind into some scenario based on sounds you’re hearing) and/or are just plain weird. Their new soundscapes sound like the professional who made the good ones let their 5 year old come into the booth to play and draw stick figures but in a sound’s sense. Maybe they got lucky on creating a few good soundscapes when they launched, or maybe a different person is doing it, either way, the newest stuff is not great.

I’ve downloaded 5 competitor apps to see if their execution is any better because the idea is solid but execution, while admirable the progress and attempts they’ve made, still does not cut it to be a paid app 👎.

  • Super immersive

I downloaded the app and gave it a try. It’s very immersive. I love how varied the sounds are throughout the track. And the close water dripping sounds are great. I rarely feel so relaxed as I did after this experience. 👏👏
  • Creates an anchor to the present moment

I took my first Olo journey at 10AM on a weekday because I was already feeling overstimulated and my meetings hadn’t even started yet. I guess I was expecting a mix of relaxing music, but what happened instead inside of my headphones was utterly amazing. I went to a country field and listened to a campfire and a rolling thunderstorm. The crispness, reality, and subtlety of the transitions between elements had me shook! I began to believe I was there. This was completely transporting me as if in a dream or remote viewing. Then the campfire and thunder transformed into the dance of two tones and I was lifted to an abstract space where all of my senses were clear and heightened. As the soundscape faded I felt so present in my body, like completely in my senses and out of my thoughts. This experience was a shocker. Soooooooooooooo so good. I hope they keep making more of these soundscape journeys they are a very powerful spiritual tool. Thanks.

  • Calming app

Remember when other meditation apps provided calm before they crammed in 100s of options. Olo goes back to those days and does it in a beautiful and elegant way. Love this app for mindfulness and meditation!

  • Create Flow

Highly Recommend as I use this very pleasant app while working at my digital desk. It’s a great ambient sound timer that also helps create flow.
  • Simply calm.

Beautifully designed. It works great with noise cancelling headphones. A nice take, with an intuitive interface.
