Description of Delete After Reading

A book you can play, or a game you can read, Delete After Reading is a crafted combination of an adventure story and puzzle games about cheating your destiny. An original storytelling format for armchair detectives and escape room aficionados of all ages. On the worst day of your life, you find a strange device with a file named “Delete After Reading”. It’s a classified document. Nina, Cinco, and Tomate, a clandestine group of kids (they happen to be dead, but they’ve never let that small detail interfere with their daily, uh, lives) want you to join them on a secret mission to repair Destiny’s latest injustice: the despised millionaire Martin Skrilhex has stolen the only existing copy of the highly coveted videogame “The Curse of Penguin Island” so only he can play it. Together you’ll have to sneak into the magnate’s mansion and steal back the videogame, so kids around the world can play it. But this mission will only be successful if Destiny does not find out that you are changing his plans, so never ever forget to delete the file after reading it. Main features: - Text is the gameplay, a cool and innovative mix of interactive reading, story, and escape room puzzles. - An immersive storytelling format that broadens the view of what games (and books) could be. - A thrilling adventure story for the whole family.

  • Save game

This game is fun and all….but a save and continue feature would be nice so people wouldn’t have to start from scratch every time they play..
  • I need help

I love this game so far. Graphics are great but one probelm. IM STUCK ON CHAPTER ONE. I cant scroll for some reason. I play on macbook pro. Does anyone have this problem?? If so give feed back on reddit. My reddit is lilylikestopla.

  • Expect to play straight through; Does not save your progress

I will start on a positive note, because the idea behind the game is fun and overall, it was fun. If you liked the game Device 6, then you’ll enjoy this because it’s quite similar in terms of how it plays and the kind of things you have to do/puzzles you need to solve.

That said, there are two things that could be better. First, the last level is a pain in the butt because it is timed and there is NO margin for error. This means that if you tap the wrong thing once or too soon, you get to try again, but you need to get through multiple stages of the level. You can, for example pass through the first two challenges, but if you screw up the next one enough times, you go ALL the way back to the start of the level and redo everything you already did. I get that it’s supposed to make the situation feel urgent and realistic, but c’mon. This is an APP! After awhile, it got pretty boring/frustrating having to keep restarting and I wanted to quit.

This is the other problem with this game; if you don’t play each chapter from start to finish, the game does not save your progress on your current level. So if you play most or part of the way through chapter 3 (for example) and have to leave the game, you have to go all the way back to the start of chapter 3 and redo everything you already did.

So if you can get past those two things, you’ll probably enjoy this game.
