Description of Pulsar

Discover the dynamic features of Pulsar-ES: The 'Imitator' feature offers 8 pads, each triggering a unique drum sound (bass drum, snare, hat, clap, 3 toms, crash). This allows for improvisation and playing over the built-in rhythm presets. The 'Rhythm Selector' provides key groups under 'Enter Rhythm' to choose your desired rhythm preset. Seamlessly switch between different rhythm presets in real-time. The 'Start-Stop' knob, equipped with a flash indicator, displays the step/beat and enables you to play and stop the drum presets at any time. Slider knobs for 'Level,' 'Tempo,' and 'Accent' offer control over volume, track tempo, and beat emphasis respectively. The 'Rhythm Number' indicator displays the number of the current style, allowing you to track the playing rhythm preset during a session. Pulsar-ES comes with two sides 64x2 presets of non-editable rhythm patterns, catering to a wide range of modern musical styles. These presets include popular genres like rock, reggae, house, techno, as well as unique styles like hopak, polka, kazachok, rasputin, and lezginka. The 'FXs Pulsar Panel' includes various effects such as drive, reverb, and filter. 'Ableton Link' technology enables synchronization of Pulsar's beat/tempo across other applications, hosts, or devices wired or wireless! The 'Midi In/Out' feature allows Pulsar-ES to send and receive MIDI messages to and from external MIDI devices, such as keyboards, synthesizers, drum machines, MIDI-enabled instruments, and other iOS applications. Pulsar-ES is AUv3 compatible and can be used with your favorite DAW and Hosts (Logic Pro, AUM, Cubasis, etc.)

Reviews of Pulsar

  • not worth the time or money

    poor sounds, limited uses
  • Great responsive developer!

I’m still working on editing my initial review, it’s not letting me do so per the instructions, so as a stop-gap I wanted to and another to say this is a great app, it sounds distinctive, and as a replication of an esoteric piece of vintage hardware is a lot of fun to use. As a preset drum machine, effects like delay and replicant 3 can really open up the possibilities of the sounds. I really like it. Definitely worth the money. Things like this should be understood for what they are, not what they aren’t. They are great places to start a process as it puts you somewhere you wouldn’t usually be. Thanks again and I’ll try to get my old review off the store. I shouldn’t have been as critical as I was, given that people are sometimes not as understanding as they should be as to what they’re getting for the money. But hanks so much for being so responsive!

  • Fun app

Great little app to get started with. Love the authentic beats, pretty much like ones I looked up on original device recordings. Lots of potential.
