Still broken, still fails to load
EDIT: It’s still broken for me following the latest update so reduced to 1 star until it’s fixed.
I had high hopes for this, even if those hopes were coloured by the app that was available back in the day. Unfortunately it fails to get beyond the splash screen so I cannot even try the app and review it properly. Such a shame so the only hope I have left is that they update it really soon.

App never fully opens
Pretty much the exact same experience as others have mentioned here. Personally, I don't store any music locally. I'm an Apple Music subscriber, and prefer to stream all of my music from the cloud. Somehow, music is still taking up over eight gigs of space on my phone, but that's not relevant to this review. i've loved using Winamp on my computer for years, so was super excited to hear that it had come to iOS. I downloaded the app, though, and absolutely nothing happened. As others have described, when I tried to open the app, it hangs for about a minute, and then just closes. Since I'm blind, I thought that maybe it was a voiceover issue, but clearly, that is not the case. Hopefully, this app will get fixed someday, as I would love to use it, but now, it's pretty much pointless.

Doesn’t load
I get a splash screen for about a minute but then the app crashes.
Not Worth The Effort
I’ve been hating on the Music app so I decided to go back to Winamp after nearly 10 years. - It refuses to load or even fully open.
Won’t Load Library
I have 60 GB of music on my iPhone. Winamp crashes when trying to process all 11K songs.
Won’t load
Was really wanting this to work, but in 24 hours it hasn’t got past the first screen where it says it’s initialising my library.
Where is URL Stream Capability?
The desktop app allows you to add URLs of your own. VLC also also for URL streaming. This seems like a big oversight. The “Hotmix” options are lame and I’d like to connect to preexisting streams, not these goofy curated options.
Has potential
I like what you’ve done from a functionality perspective. There’s some real potential here, but agree with other reviews. Millions of people will get the Winamp nostalgia hit, but other than the name there’s absolutely nothing in the app. Looking back at the old designs it’s amazing to see how close to modern Spotify you already were. All you need to do it nudge it that little bit further, but instead it feels like you’ve tried to replicate Spotify too much. Embrace what made you brilliant, re work the UI to feel classic, yet modern. Bring back the equaliser. Stop trying to be like the new kids, you just need a hair cut and a slight upgrade not a complete redesign. There’s some real potential here though if you can get it right. Ps. Typeface choice 👎 too chonky

meh, very disappointing
Before iTunes Music Store and the rise of subscription streaming radio, there were WinAMP and MacAMP music players and certain apps that could help you “obtain” music in very…dubious ways, you could say.
Fast-forward to today, and WinAMP is a shell of its former self. Nowhere near as easy to use, and worthless for DRM-protected music on your phone.
Might be worth it for the nostalgia or if you have a large collection of DRM-free music, but the built-in Music app is a better option.
+1 for the music speedup/slow down functionality.

Splash Screen
That’s all I get when I launch it. A splash screen. How my favorite player from my youth has fallen. SMH
