It’s a good app, does what it suggests.
It does need to refresh fairly often, but this is to be expected from any app that connects to a messaging inbox.

Hi Bakacoco, from my end, subscriptions are set, and then handled by Apple’s App Store, which includes renewal. I can assure you that there are only 2 possible subscription options that I’ve set, one for monthly renewals, another for yearly.
Prices have been set at USD 1.99 for the monthly plan and USD 12.99 for the yearly plan, since the very beginning of the app.
As the developer, I am unable to influence the renewal process, by design of the App Store, as that’s all automated and handled by the App Store, on behalf of me.
Likewise, it should not be possible for the App Store to charge you that the yearly subscription price, on a monthly basis.
I urge you to escalate this to App Store support, if this really is what you are facing. If necessary, you may also contact me via email (contact@vincentneo.com), should you require additional information. I can show you my App Store Connect setup too, if you don’t believe me.The yearly subscription is highly misleading.
I’ve been charged multiple times for the same “one year 12.99” subscription over the last month alone.

I can show you my App Store Connect setup too, if you don’t believe me.So I downloaded this app to be able to use telegram and within 24hrs telegram had banned my account and telephone number and when I contacted support to try to get my number unbanned they refused and said it was justified since I was trying to use third party apps so they can clearly detect that you’re using this through your watch somehow.
Do not download this as it is a complete waste of money and will only get your devices/phone number banned from the platform. Buyer BEWARE!!

With regards to allegations regarding Telegram account bans based on third party app usage, it is false. Please refer to https://github.com/tdlib/td/issues/2940#issuecomment-2186893068 which is a reply from a TDLib developer, of which, TDLib is the official open source API provided by Telegram themselves and is the API used for developing Pigeon. You may read more about TDLib here: https://core.telegram.org/tdlib
Also, Pigeon is free to use for basic features, with all subscription options having a 1 week free trial period, which you would not be charged if you cancelled the subscription during this period. Since you’ve faced issues using the app in 24 hours of using the app, you should be able to cancel it for free, if you did attempt to subscribe to it.I don’t think it has ever gotten to the point of actually opening a message when I get an alert. Constantly says updating and shows a bunch of really old messages, but never loads the one that just came in. Would really like a refund for this. It isn’t worth installing.

I apologise for the poor experience that you've faced.
Unfortunately, there are many variables that can cause connection issues, which often are out of our control, as the developer of the app.
One of the reasons why the app is free to use for many features, such as reading newest messages, is to allow users to try the app out, evaluate its performance, usability, etc, before deciding whether or not, to subscribe for more features, of which, users can also choose to cancel during the first 7 days of free trial.
