Great resource for finding that hidden boat ramp that gets you in the water you could see but not get to!
Some really big lakes here in Tennessee! Sure is nice to figure out where you left the truck when you’re lost in the beauty of a great day on the water!

Great idea poor execution
I started looking at local waterways. The best boat ramp that is extremely popular with all paddle powered craft next to my house is not listed. The boat ramps near by listed are power boat ramps with minimal parking and not great paddling areas the town ways to water specifically created for kayaks etc. are not listed. Next I checked the map for one of my favorites the west branch of the Penobscot in ME made famous by Henry Thoreau. The west branch has both seriously white water and the classic swift water route that Henry used. The grades of white water are marked but this app considers all of the west branch to be the same. No campsites along the swift water trip are marked. No details of at all just this is the west branch of the Penobscot there are some rapids and some boat ramps. This lack of info is frustrating and potentially dangerous for inexperienced paddlers relying on this app for guidanceShow lessSaltwaterrust
Measuring issues
Does anyone else have issues with the measurement feature. I love that you can plot points on the river and measure the distance until I look back at the map and see that it changed the points and is a straight line across one of the towns. Unless I am able to kayak down Main Street I don’t think that’s gonna help me much. It makes plotting points very difficult. I wish the app would stick to the points I placed rather than try to find the shortest distance from the first to last point.Show lessDubya Dee Fordy

Hey, please reach out to our support team to troubleshoot this. The measuring tool should just measure along the river corridor, unless a point further away from the river trace line is selected for measurement.What the Paddling Community Needs!
I know the app is still growing but this is already an amazing resource to have. I’ve used it to measure our sections of rivers, find beta, and know where the rapids are as I’m paddling downstream. Great app!! It will only get better with more rivers being added every day!Gnardia
Love this app for planning logistics
I really like that you can click on an icon and have a description of the feature. It doesn’t take away the need for scouting, but it does give you the opportunity to have beta and a visual. I’m also a fan of the boat ramps and other access points for flat water, it’s really made my paddling more enjoyable as I’m exploring more water in the area that I had otherwise not even considered. The map really emphasizes every body and makes it easier and more fun to plan the next trip.Show lessTony. G.
Only Detailed Paddle App on App Store
In my brief search for an app that would give me all the available routes to Canoe or kayak on, PaddleWays stands out as really the only option. The maps are beautiful satellite imagery, with suggested route planning. I wish this app was more adopted by the paddle communities at large so that it could have more comments on the route planning.Show lessCuba_Steve

Having spent quite a bit of money with NRS, I would think they would give me this app for free for more than 7 days!! After checking it out I feel like my local water trails app has much more details and for far less expense. The idea of being able to map my trips, get detailed info on flow and/or tides, driving directions, parking passes needed, facilities, camping spots etc is what I’m looking for.Show lessOregonNewt

Your idea is much of what we're working towards! We have all that stuff in the app now, just not at the scale we need. Over the next few months you'll see a dramatic increase in those types of informationGood tool, would be great as more sources get added
Overall this is a great tool for planning and to get beta on sections of rivers with recent trips. Some of the river gauges and river names are a bit hard to search (Gates of Lodore doesn’t show up when you search). Other than that, great app.cab7104

This app is a must have for people looking for their local drop in and the general info about it.
I’m new to kayaking and joined a group to find areas where I could legally go and what the general info was for that spot.
This app was recommended to me and makes it easy to pick new spots and find places that I would have never knew about.
