Outliner User Reviews

Almost Perfect!

This would be the ideal app if there was an option to colour code text. Slicktasks for blackberry is an excellent example. Colour allows users to assign another level of hierarchy creating further customization. I hope the developer considers adding this feature. Even a gray scale option would be an added advantage.

No where near Natara's Bonzai

I am sorry, the last review not withstanding, this app is a very skimpy attempt at an outliner. It is very difficult to use, and has very few options, especially compared to the Natara Bonzai app on my palm. The font is way too big, the controls clumsy, and the look bland. However my palm is dying and I was desperate for a replacement. I can appreciate there are some limitations with the iphone specs, but hopefully with time CarbonFin will use my ten bucks wisely and produce a Bonzai-worthy app. Anyone else out there working on an outliner? Any updates available? Curtisthehippo

This is the best outliner for now

This is the best outliner for the iPhone/iTouch. It's simple and doesn't get in the way of your thought process.
You can export to OPML and import into mindmaps like iThoughts. You can keep a backup on their website by synch, but if the outline ideas are sensitive you can email instead.

This can be better

If it had push nofication. Due dates. Calender. This can be the best software outthere. I really liketheprogress circle . Can it be change to a bar? I'll give 5 starz hope you can make this app better.

Outlining Functionality Great but ...

Outlining functionality is great but could we please have improved content support in the note field. Combine NoteMaster with the outlining capability of this app and all would be well!

Tabbed Outlining

What more can I say, hierarchical outlining is very useful and outlines can be imported from Bonsi for those coming from Palm. The interface (both online and the app) is clean, effective and nice looking. It does not have many extra bells and wistles, but it does what it does *very* well.

Does what I need

So far I am very happy with this product cause it satisfied my needs: a hierarchical outliner that expands and collapses easily. Great for my To Do list, shopping lists, and keeping track of ideas. The free online synching capability is great. I'd give it 5 stars if it had colour / highlight abilities.

Very user friendly!

I've surprised myself how often I use this app! I find myself going back to it to organize my thoughts into categories and sub-categories each day! I can defiantly recommend this app. Although it would be nice if you could add colours to your categories.

This is a very useful app

It took me a little time to get to grips with how it works, but now I really like it. It's great for organising projects. Saves me the trouble of having lots of post it notes with ideas written on them. Everything's organised in one place now. Brilliant!

Perhaps the only list program you need

I've looked at a few list programs but this is, as far as I know, the only one which will support importing outlines from other programs. As of version 2.0, you can completely manage your lists from a desktop browser as well: create lists, edit lists, changed checked status and so on. You can also share list with other users, though I haven't done that yet. I was a long time user of BrainForest on the Palm and this is now a far superior replacement. I was hoping for OmniOutliner on the iPhone but that is a way off, and now I'm not sure I would bother anyway. Outliner does the job nicely.
