Description of Pianist

The first widely available mobile multi-touch piano, Pianist has been featured in a number of Apple advertising campaigns and was one of the 'Awesome iOS4 Apps' in an Apple iTunes promotion. Sound On Sound magazine listed Pianist in its pick of the Top 20 iPhone Apps, and T3 Magazine in its Top 100 iPhone Apps. Pianist has also been recommended by media sources such as the Mail On Sunday and Fox News. Pianist is considered so influential that it has now been listed as one of three examples of musical instrument apps in the primary academic reference: "The Grove Dictionary of Musical Instruments". - Full 88 key piano keyboard sampled from a real piano for maximum authenticity. - Record and save your compositions for later playback. Overdub as many times as you want, and remove unwanted notes. - Virtual "Soft" and "Sustain" pedals, and expression depending on where you press the key. - Optional dual keyboard layout allows you to reach even more keys without the need to scroll. Up to four octaves can be displayed and played at once. - Stay in time with a completely configurable metronome. To take your music creation to the next step, be sure to also check out our new app: Looptical Music Studio.

  • It’s TRULY baby grand in your pocket☆

I’m FLOORED that you updated this today☆ Thank you for caring enough to do so. I know you did an update in the past year, or two, but today’s update shows you really do care about this app. I’ve had this app since my iPhone3G back in 2009, and I’ve also put it on my iPhone4 (Twenty-10), iPhone5 (Twenty-12), and my iPhone6S+ (Twenty-15). I’ve been a student of David L Burge’s Perfect Pitch course since 1998, and I like to use your piano app to test my ear when tones and notes jump out at me in real life☆ I like the accuracy of the touch, even when using 15-key mode. The tone is so realistic for it to be coming from a phone. It really makes me wish I had a stereo iPhone7, but i’m still gonna wait a while since I still have the last of the headphone-jack iPhones.
    Thank you so much.

  • Flawed...

Lotta fun...when it actually works, that is. When I go to it on my homescreen, it jumps me BACK to my homescreen after a few seconds. It was working fine the first day I downloaded it, but it's been acting up ever since. And please forgive my ignorance, but I've only had my iPhone a couple of months. What exactly is a "jailbroken" iPhone?

  • Bluetooth speaker issue

Cool app. Has an issue with bluetooth speakers (I’m using UE MINI BOOM): if you delay more than 12 seconds between notes, the sound stops working. You can restart it by going to settings, changing the speaker to iPhone and then changing it back to the bluetooth speaker (or by restarting the app). It’s as if the app isn’t keeping the connection alive or is being moved to the background and shutting the connection down.
