Glory be to Jesus Christ
I recommend Universalis for many reasons, but here are three:
#1 is the user interface. This app doesnโt feel like an app, it feels like a Roman Missal/volume of the LOTR that you can customize. It has been beautifully made.
#2 The in app reminders are great! You can have reminders set to notify you for daily recitation of the Angelus, Mass Reading, LOTR, and more. One of my favorite features is that every hour on the hour (from 6-6) I get a verse that come up on my phone. It really helps me to pray throughout my day. Also, the reminder tone is a old church bell! Love it!
#3 The remembrance cards, and smartphone calendar integration. Remembrance cards allows you to put information in for someone who has died, helping you to remember their life and pray for them annually. Because the app has a liturgical calendar built-in that will sync with the calendar on your phone, you donโt even have to go to the app to see feasts and solemnities, and the remembrance cards will be on your regular schedule.

Thank you
Universalis a wonderful app for today that we can carry with us where we go on our phone and pray the office during the day. It is both inspirational and educational.. Sometimes there is a problem though when I stop a reading and then try to continue it then goes back to the beginning of the office. I wish they could fix that glitch.. but I am very grateful for this app.

Universalis
Universalis has made praying the Office accessible. Previously I couldnโt work out the book. I also read the mass readings every day along with the commentaries. So many options for prayer right at my fingertips - Truly a blessing for busy Christians in modern times!
Great Prayer Resource
This is a fantastic resource for those who pray the Divine Office. Everything is easily set out without having to flip and search. It also has readings for Masses as well as many other resources to assist with prayer. Invaluable and so much cheaper than buying missals.
Universalis App is truly universal
This is a wonderful App for anyone wanting to have Prayer of the Church, Mass texts and basic Catholic prayers available for every day and for all parts of the Anglophone world - plus more.
It also offers - for a subscription fee - a spoken version.
Size of text can be easily increased or decreased
Extra features are gradually being added

Universalis
Universalis brings the prayer of the church to everyone: lay people as well as members of religious orders and priests. As such it is a wonderful worldwide support for people who want to pray regularly. I use Universities every day myself.
I have only given 4 stars however for one very disappointing reason. That the language is overwhelmingly male, talking about โmenโ โbrothersโ โsonsโ to the exclusion of at least 50% of the readers. I know of friends who would like to use Universalis, but wonโt because of the overwhelming male gender bias.
How difficult would it be to redraft the prayers to become more accessible and inclusive? Language and words matter. Choice of words is important . It is time that the church and the formulators of our prayers gave thought to the words they use in these prayers. Respect, dignity, and holiness- these qualities apply to women as well as men.

Excellent App, Highly Recommended
Not only has one all the prayers of the Divine Office on hand everyday, 365 days a year, but much more besides. Included, for example, is the daily Mass with the Gospel and readings, information on the saints of the day, and the holy Rosary with the relevant passages from the holy Scriptures, etc, etc. A very useful facility is the audio option, particularly so when one is ill. It is an amazingly well thought out app. Thank you to the designer for making this handy app readily available.

My AM GO To
Thanks for all daytime options, lectio, the hours, the weekly โlook aheadโ but especially the Mass Readings with commentaries by Hugh Wansbrough OSB. I find myself saying โnever thought of this beforeโ after a read of the HW commentary. Paul H Canada
Love of the rosary ๐
Dear Universalis, many thanks for this wonderful app. I have found complete solace and protection through listening to the rosary + angelus, + reading the Bible scripture. There are numerous times when Iโve felt terrified + alone from the psychiatric illness I have been plagued with for some time. Thank you for all of the wonderful Catholic prayers, to Our Lady, and all the Angels + Saints. Praise God! Immanuel!!!! (God is in control)
