The two classic game styles merge very well in a well rendered package. Nice touches with the audio and classic scoreboard. It's probably not the developers fault but the screen gets 'sticky' from finger moisture and sliding back and forth becomes trickier. It also seems that the screen occasionally missed a move I've made, not sure the cause, but about a third of the ships I lose are as a result of the above.
All said, good game for the price (.99).

Simple idea that works, great execution
Remarkably simply & cute combination that turns out to work well. The controls and graphics are appealing.
The only minor knock on this game is that it doesn't use the unique features of the iphone. I'd enjoy this exact game on my pc. That being said, however, the implementation of a paddle using the touch screen is remarkably successful. (I'd only suggest that you not have to "grab" the paddle, perhaps it could jump or move to where you touch.)

Waste of iPhone space
Looks and sounds great but too hard to control. You're moving your blocker with your finger by touch screen and your finger gets in the way of incoming missiles. You can't see what's going on. I expected space invaders as well...not pong. I stopped playing after a few times and deleted it. I didn't want to but it was more annoying than fun.

Not so good 4 me
I deleted mine. Just too complicated to try to figure out the controls. Oh well.
Excellent Retro Game
Love it. The detail and even the voice is just like the old style game. Keeping this on the Touch and I'm particular. The missles seem to sneak up on me and gets to be challenging. But just love it mainly for the retro look but it does play well too. I'd recommend getting this one especially if any remember back in the days of the first arcade shooter games.

Brilliant fusion of old-school games.
Smoosh Space Invaders and BreakOut together, add powerups, a smattering of SID-Chip (c64) audio, a cool background, and this is the result. Far more addictive than I had expected. Anyone who ever had a c64 will go totally nostalgic at that unmistakable SID sound. Love it! Great game.
GREAT Game!
It's really fun, just two suggestions: 1. Make possible to pause the game once you are not touching the screen, exactly like "Superball 2" app game, (it's very useful when you need to stop playing immediately without the risk to lose a life). 2. Please describe inside the game every power up that falls from above. Thanks!

Love it. The style is before my time, but as many know: retro is the new cool! It seems authentic, having never played the original..
I disagree with a previous review illustrating the "Catch 22" situations that occur. And I almost didn't buy it because of that. After playing for a while, I've come to feel that it's just "the way it is" - it didn't even annoy me once. It's probably how the original game managed to eat up all of your quarters, lol. Thankfully, replays are free here!

Frustrating!
It is a hard thing to downgrade a wonderful idea and well written app.
The philosophy of the game and smooth control, great graphics and physics are unmatched.
I have played for hours on this, and find myself entirely frustrated at the "Catch 22" results that occur.
Either I avoid a bomb which requires that I let the ball go and thereby lose a player, or return the ball and bet hit by a bomb and loose a player.
As the physics are random, this is bound to occur. It would be nice to have settings to increase the number of plays or decrease how many hits it takes to kill the player.
I is very hard to make such comments on such a great game, but the whole idea is that it should be selectively challenging but doable for all who play this.

Space out review
Slightly addictive game when there is time to kill, brings back some childhood memories that's for sure.
