2.0.5

October 2, 2018

- Fixed a bug where the percentages required to win a level were showing incorrectly... If you can get 104% of the hexagons on the board, you're a better man than me. - Added a new bonus for when you wipe out the other player :) From 2.0.4: - Updated for iPhone XS Max and XR screen sizes. - Supports everything from the iPhone 4s up to the new iPhone XS Max, and iOS 9-12.

2.0.4

October 1, 2018

- Updated for iPhone XS Max and XR screen sizes. - Supports everything from the iPhone 4s up to the new iPhone XS Max, and iOS 9-12.

2.0.3

November 8, 2017

2.0.2

November 6, 2017

- Compatibile with iOS 9-11. - iPhone X support. - Reduced memory overhead. - Changed the way the menus are drawn, as they were sometimes out of place on older devices. - Bugfix: If you enabled random boards, then starting a game via the "Start At Level" option to start at a specific level, it just picked a random board.

2.0.1

June 16, 2016

Version 2.0.1: - Bug fix: Due to a typo, it wasn't possible to win certain levels when you had random boards enabled. From version 2.0: - Completely re-written for iOS 9. - Uses all new-fangled things like 3D Touch on the iPhone 6S/+ so you can press the app icon to start new games, resume an existing game, and start at a level you've previously reached in a 1-player game. - Some simple, but lovely animations in the game and menus. - The board will randomly add a special bonus hexagon every now and then. - There are now 20 hi-score places. - If your device terminates Colony in the background to free up some memory, your game should be saved for you to resume it when you re-launch Colony. BUGFIXES: - Special hexagons no longer trigger their bonus as part of a chain reaction. They will only trigger if they started it. - Advancing to the next level in a 2-player game would quite often wipe the losing player's score. This was completely unintentional. You should now end the game with the right scores. - I've fixed plenty of little issues whilst rewriting the game, and it runs much better now. I hope you enjoy the update to this game I wrote back in 2008! Many thanks to everyone who bought the game, and buys this new version, of course!

Description of Colony

50 levels of addictive puzzling strategy fun! Play against your device or another player, taking it in turns to place triangular pieces on the board to fill up hexagons. When a hexagon has as many pieces within it as it has hexagons touching it, it explodes and sends its pieces to those hexagons, 'colonising' them and making them your own. Gain bonuses by setting off chain reactions of explosions! Once you've colonised the required percentage of hexagons for that level, you win and advance to the next level. Plan your game wisely, as one wrong move can really turn the tables! Features: - 1-player and 2-player modes - 50 levels! - Hi-scores - Special bonus hexagons - Random boards - Levels grow in difficulty - Resume a saved game - Start at any level you've previously reached in a 1-player game

  • Not Bad

The UI is great, strategy is amazing-but it's the game that bugs me. I guess I'm just not the type of person to like this type of game, that's all. Other than that, it's fantastic.
  • Good game but tougher than it looks

Enjoyable game but much more difficult than it looks. Well worth $.99. If you like games that are difficult to master get this game.
  • Great game but ....

The game is very addictive and can be very frustrating when you have nearly covered the board only for the AI to complete a massive chain reaction.
In some circumstances there didn't seem to be a logic as to where the segments exploded to (some opposing colour segments weren't captured). Overall great game but would like to see more levels and more cell features other than free space or blocking space.
