Like it, but it needs more features.
Hello, Cocoatype. I am really interested in your app. As far as I’ve tested it, it’s really good. However, here are the features I request in order to make it better.
First of all, I would like to be able to zoom in and out, while also being able to rotate the screen. This is so that I am able to make my animations far more detailed, and work with the smaller brush sizes more efficiently.
On another note, I’d be glad to have the ability to change my frame rate. That way, the animators can choose how smooth they want their animations to be.
My final request is that you could add the option to change the canvas ratio. Most animations are animated in the 16:9 ratio, others with different variations.
I hope I could see these features within the next update!

“Next update” might be a bit generous (Kineo/Cocoatype is a single-person endeavor), but most of these things are on my radar. Zooming especially is something I’ve heard mentioned quite a bit; hopefully I can have something for you soon!
Needs A LOT of improvement
So, I liked the tool bar at the bottom of the screen, but there are MAJOR problems with this app. For starters, it would be so much easier to zoom in and out. When I saw that there wasn’t a feature to do that, I immediately knew I couldn’t use this app. Not just that, but when I wanted to change the frames per second, I couldn’t find it. I couldn’t even find a settings bar. Another thing that bugged me was the onion skin. I feel it’s best to either make the onion skinS a different color, this way I can’t get my frames mixed up. Also, there should be a setting for turning on and off the onion skin. Another suggestion is that I couldn’t find the “layers” for sketching and such. One last thing was the tools, yes, I like the tool BAR but I feel that there should be more (in my opinion). I don’t hate this app, just needs some improvement!! Overall, this app is good for starters in animation. Please improve!! If you do, this app would be amazing!

Hi there! Thanks for the feedback! I'm trying to keep this app fairly simple (as you say, good for starters), so adding features is done fairly slowly and deliberately. I don't want to overwhelm anyone with a ton of buttons and options. 🙂 That said, I'll definitely take this list of requests into consideration; being able to zoom is an especially common one. Way too long without improvement
I bought this app when it first arrived and found it to be fun but, as others have said, the enjoyment was very limited due to the inability to save and export the animations. Now more than a year later nothing has been done improve these TERMINAL flaws. Other than for killing time for a few moments this is a worthless application. It's a shame as it would have required so little to make it a really fine app. If developers finally do some improvements I will adjust my review accordingly.

Not bad but needs a lot of work.
It's pretty fun to use but it is in dire need of a few things. A layers too! It is so hard to draw the same thing over and over again exactly the same, especially with your finger. It also has a glitch in which it will not draw freely and curves become straight lines, which does effect the final outcome. They also need more than 9 colors and an eraser! Once these get changed or fixed, 5 stars. But till then it's not very good...

Really limited
It's a basic animation app nothing more. Even novices will be begging for more features- like the ability to copy over the last frame and adjust the framerate. But the biggest deal breaker is the fact you cannot export your animations out of the app. I'm sure these can be added easily in an update, but kudos to the devs for making this a universal app.

Would be nice to be able to copy and paste frames and change brush sizes for erasing. Also the ability to loop playback would be radtastic.

This is a cool app but there are a few things it could use:

Simple to use but no sharing option!
Disappointed. It's easy to use but too easy to accidentally not save and lose your work and pointless because you can't share your animations outside of the app. Turn it into an animated gif that I can email!
Simplicity is nice but it does need a few more options. Did I miss where there might be a paint bucket tool? Or brush sizes?
