How about a Master Test!
Nice application. Effective learning. The 5th star is missing as one is not able to take a test on all Kana characters at the same time. Pls add a Master Test feature!

This app is a really good introduction to hiragana and katakana. It has all the ten ten and yoon variations which many others don't, and has a slick interface to back it up.
The quizzes are good and the writing practice is also a great tool to help your writing and to help memorize characters.
The audio clips are very handy in getting the right inflictions, and having examples of words using the character (ie a is for apple) helps too.
The price is a bit steep at $7.99, but I'm not regretting my purchase one bit. If it was slightly cheaper then this would be a steal. Nice work developers!

Very useful, excellent app
I've been meaning to learn hiragana and katakana for some time but never got serious until this app. It's so useful especially it's ability to make practice sets.
I would recommend it for any beginner or anyone looking to refresh their skills.

Great program for beginners; could use some additional options
Likes:
1) Clean interface
2) You can choose the cards you want to study and place them in a practice set.
3) Great program for those just learning Hiragana and Katakana.
Wishlist to make the program work more like true flashcards:
1) Japanese character and the Romaji are on the same side of the card. I wish there was an option to put the Romaji on the backside of the card.
2) I wish there was a "Shuffle" button so you could study the cards in your Practice Set out of order.

Highly recommended!
I've been a Japanese student for several years and now my daughter is learning. I was looking for something extremely helpful and fun for her. This is great for a beginner! I love it. I would like to have a kanji app just like this. γγγγ¨γγ
I love this app
I love all the options and how the software was made. It's very easy to use.
The ipod touch is perfect for this application since you use your finger to trace the kanas!
Would be great if you guys add all the kanjis too, or maybe you could do IKanji touch? I would defeinitely buy it!
Another great option would be to add some more vocabulary and practice with complete words.

The author of this app should make some more flashcard programs for more subjects. Loving the interface!
Definately worth it.
If you are new to Japanese like me you would be dumb not to get it. I know it's expensive , but if you wanna learn than this is the right app. If you also want vocab, get Japanese flip. Overall, great app.

iKana is great for both intermediate and beginner japanese students. I'm a total beginner and iKana has given me an overview of Hiragana charecters. Highly recommended!!!
