Quite good. Much better since the update. I also think that the option to toggle practice flags while in mini-flash-card mode would be useful.
I think it does seem better than the other similar kana apps, and does contain both katakana & hiragana, however, It could be developed further to justify the cost. An "enter this kana word in Romanji" function, or vice versa for example.

If you are learning ζ₯ζ¬θͺ then you need this app
I am in my first year of Japanese(ζ₯ζ¬θͺ) at university. And I hates carrying all my flashcards for katakana and hiragana. But this app I do not need flashcards anymore! It's the best 8 dollars I have ever spent! Now I agree with another reviewer that there should be a kanji version but untill then I have kanji flip.

Great app. Works just as it should.
great learning tool
as a beginning japanese language student, this iPhone tool has speeded up my learning of Hiragana and Katakana. Any spare moment, a quick look... It also has a great interface. Only thing missing is a full Hiragana and Katakana test.
All you need to learn Kana
This is possibly the most valuable app I've purchased yet. As a new student of Japanese I've found learning Kana to be quite easy and fun with iKana. Looking forward to the Kanji edition!

Awesome to remember those Hiragana!
This software is EXCELLENT if you are planning on knowing by heart those crazy little characters. One of the best feature is that you can basically create any test that u like by picking the characters you want to study.
A nice addition in terms of feature would be to ask for the translation of a whole word from hiragana to romanji and vice versa (using the japanese keyboard)

This app is amazing! They contain all the set and give you efficient way to practice. What I especially like about it is that the app allows me to pick my own practice set, so that I could focus on my weak spots. This app is one of few apps that I have bought that I feel worth the money.
