Just more work to check multiple communication streams
Now instead of checking email in a mainstream work environment, I need to go to 2 places. And if I need to communicate externally with something posted on yammer, it needs to be C&P'd into an email.
Update: I was provided with a valuable post. I closed the app afterward, but upon going back in, I found that posts are impossible to relocate. The search engine is of no help in this area.
Rating is going down from 2 stars to 1

Posting articles
I like the app for the ease of checking what's going on. I don't like the way it posts links. On a laptop you post a link and it expands to show a picture of the article. In the app you only get a link. I'm not impressed.
Now I get it!
Didn't see the point of yet another way to comm with colleagues. Now I get it. Virtual teams across the world who get what you do and can share "a better way". Useful.
Great app
This app makes uploading photos so much easier and I can keep my eyes on what's happening when I'm not at work :)
Great way to connect but navigation not always easy
I love the app, love the way you can talk, connect to people, attach links, all of that, but the navigation isn't easy or intuitive for me. That might be something to do with the pic/Mac versus phone version? I only use phone.
A+++++
Yammer is great! I like how it's a lot like Facebook, but less of the stalking and being nosey and more about getting to know your fellow workmates and what's going on within the company, and updating them as well. Yammer is easy to use and I like how it's not bombarded with ads all over the place!
Buggy and lacking polish
Yammer on iOS is painful, the activity feed only has a limited number of recent posts (seems to be a long-standing bug?), need to go to browser to see more. Notifications are unwieldy and take more clicks than they should to clear. Compared to Google products this is a poor implementation that lacks polish.

Hammer the Yammer
Good tool which relies on people digging the vibe (70's phrase alert) and contributing. Really wish I had the ability to edit a post though to correct the typos.
Anything that offers alternatives to group email is good, so hammer the yammer and don't be a spammer.
Microsoft, you can use that phrase in your marketing. Or not :)

Horrible UX (user experience)
The Yammer system treats posts and private messages as the same thing, and this app reveals that fact in a very annoying way. If you press the pencil icon (new post/message) you get a blank text box to start writing your post. If you leave the "to" field empty (focus doesn't start there) it will default to a public post as you'd expect, but if you tag anyone in the body of the post it moronically decides you wanted to send a private message. You only find out after you press send, and then you can't delete it and you look like an idiot because you sent an obviously public message to just one person. This was a terrible UX decision, which will never result in the right behaviour for anyone. One star because their stupid decision makes me look stupid.

They hamstrung it.
I wish I could revert. The latest version no longer lets you reach external networks or groups in your network that you don't follow.
This app is ok - if you only want to look at the 'following' view of your inbox. But frankly the previous version, though not as purty, was much more functional.
