Like it a lot but...
Everytime I look at a different location from where I actually were the search is always going back to my actual location.

This app is completely unreliable from the information point of view. Where I live, it ignores a large petrol station , which has been there for years - and tries to send me to any BP station (most kms away) It tells me that there is an ATM 100 metres away with a bank. Neither have been for more than a year. And the best known pub for Kms around fails to get a mention. If you were a stranger and followed this guide, you'd end up travelling from one end of Sydney region to the other. Suspect that the info must come from "Yellow Pages" - and we all know how up-to-date they are... A free app but not worth the space;if there was a zero rating it would get it.
PS. To get to one of the Apple Stores listed, I'd have to fly 7,000 Kms - to Japan!

Augmented reality
Pretty cool feature. Sign of things to come with all apps I hope. Now if only the compass was accurate enough to properly align iPhone orientation with around me map overlay. Never mind. Very cool feature no less.
To those complaining about only seeing business that have specifically listed themselves, come on it's a free app, it's like complaining that the yellow pages you received for free doesn't have your local fish 'n' chip shop who didn't pay to list in the yellow pages. Maybe you could right to your telco and complain that they insist on sending you a bill every month!

Suggested search options
I found this application to be both good and bad. Good in some locations where there appeared to be plenty of businesses available nearby. However I found it less than helpful when I knew there were businesses within the vicinity however they didn't coem up. For instance, the only petrol station coming up near me was over 4km away. I know for a fact that there are at least 6 much closer than that, and they didn't show up. I tried to find a way to add them myself but it seems that can only be done by the business owners themselves on the Finda website which links to this application. So, further work needs to be done in that area otherwise alot of places won't show up whihc tends to defeat the purpose of the aplication.

First. It's free. Albeit yes it's not nz customized but there's a search button there for a reason!
i.e. They have a list named 'gas', american term and you'll prolly just get 1 gas station. Search for 'petrol' and you'll get all of em!
With the new update for the 3gs version, this app has easily surpassed my expectations. Just search for something. Flip iPhone to landscape. Camer opens and you can visually see where and how far the searched locations are at!
It's free.. Have a go. Don't think you'll be deleting it anytime soon tho!

Faviourate app!
This is legend! I use it all the time, and it works better than local Yellow app by far! Would give it 5 stars if they put street view back on like the earlier version had, it so much easier to find a shop or cafe if you can see landmarks around the address! Cheers
Solid app
For an app built out of USA it works pretty well for NZ. It does use the Finda data through Google - which is ok. I like that I can take this app to Aus and it works there too through the TrueLocal data.
The interface is simple - but then some of the best things are simple ;)

A+++ great works well. people bashing this are ignoramus! as if they paid a dime for it! this is free app for art sake! and still has room for improvement! dont get mad if it doest know the updated name of ur cafe! what a childish act.

Wow- no bugs, easy to use, acurate and love being able to get directions from here to there using the google maps and satelite " hybrid" view. Kudos to the creaters. I am not one to rate apps but hey" credit where credit is due"

Excellent app. Few issues though with accuracy of information e.g. under Restaurants a nearby one is listed correctly with the new name "Elevate" since change of management a year ago, but under Bars the same premises is listed under the old name “Jack Flash”! If Finda are providing the business listings they need to smarten up their act. Also lots of businesses not even listed e.g. my favourite cafe Underground on 363 Colombo Street is missing altogether!
