  • Much better:

First I downloaded the free one and I was not happy with it because it seemed that the computer was getting all the winning hands. The paid version is more even, like you were actually playing with a person. I like it a lot better.
I have now discovered a problem. In the information, compatibility area you say the game is compatible with the iPad. I can't even find it in the app store. I paid for this game because I wanted to play it on my iPad. It is hard to see to play games on my iPhone. If it is not compatible with the iPad then you need to remove iPad from the list of things you can play it on. I was very happy with the game until I discovered this. Please fix it to include iPads. I will keep checking.

  • Very addictive app

I love this app! I got it over a year ago and it still has large replay value for me. Easily likely the only game I've gotten that I am still playing regularly. I often play it when needing to fill time, like waiting for a cab, on the bus, or in a doctor's waiting room. Rarely do I get tired of it. It would be cool if game scores could go above 10K before the game ends. It would also be cool, if you are playing against the computer and the score is very lopsided, like the computer has 8,000 and you have 2,000; if the computer lost points. If you like games of chance and dice games, you won't go wrong with this one!

  • No, the computer doesn't cheat

I've been playing this for a while now, and it's not difficult to beat the computer set at "normal" if you use the same strategy it does. I've seen NO evidence of altered probabilities in the dice rolls, either for the player or the computer. Perhaps the other reviewers who are complaining of "cheating" need to study strategy and odds in dice games.

Now, to actually review the game...

This is a very nice implementation of Farkle. It's decent aesthetically, with large, easy-to-read dice and good controls. There are complete instructions on how to play and how scoring works, and two different scoring options that seem to cover the two most common expectations of scoring from players (based on reading reviews for multiple Farkle apps).

  • Computer now cheats!!!

I've had this game for a very long time and I've always enjoyed it. But now I'm ready to delete it because of the computer's cheating. Either you update this or fix it to make it fair for both of us. It is no fun to see it obviously cheat like it now does. I didn't notice it so much before but now it is blatant. We PAID for this game. I would very much like to keep reccommending this game. Please address your customers views.

Ps. I'm writing again. The designer is not being truthful in my opinion. The dice rolling is not random. There is no way! I've done some calculations and there is no way it is possible. Purchase it if you must, but I wish the designer would truly make it random. It would be a 5 + star app if he would address this. As for reccommending that we who are unhappy " play more aggressively" ? Come on, we are smarter than that!

  • IFarkle

My husband and I love the game, but have had a problem while playing. Sometimes after I have picked my dice and want to pass and enter my score, the only button I can push is Roll. Usually, this happens when I have one or two dice left The Pass button is not engaged or lit. So, when this happens, I am caused to Farkle, and the computer can easily get an advantage in scoring. This usually happens at the beginning of a new game. Why? We enjoy the other Farkle application as well, and also play Farkle daily on Facebook. We have recommended these games to numerous friends.

  • Great Farkle Game

My first review (which I don't think was posted) was fairly negative toward this game. I think I gave it 2 or 3 stars. That changes with this latest update. This is now a solid 4-star game, with the potential to make it up to 5 with just a few more nips and tucks. The scoring change. This is apparently controversial, but the scoring is now the scoring I learned, and seems to be the most common scoring variant, and thus, I'm thrilled to pieces over it. However, some are disappointed by it -- I should mention that Farkle has traditionally had scoring variations (check it out on Wikipedia). If the developer can do it, I recommend allowing customizable scoring to make everyone happy. (But that will, I imagine, be a lot of work.) The sound effects. OK, so I turned them off right away. But they were actually done very well. I only turned them off because I don't want people knowing that I'm playing a game in meetings. :) Controls. These haven't changed, and are generally very intuitive. I would like to see somewhat more obvious indication that the AI is playing, though -- perhaps dimming the dice images or something similar. (Not sure if that would look good, but the idea being to keep me from forgetting that it's the AI's turn to play. :) ) If you're looking for a good, fun Farkle game -- this is the one.

  • It may *seem* to cheat ...

... but I don't think it does cheat. I always wonder about the randomness of any virtual dice rollers. I have a similar game to this that does not roll the combinations this one seems to favor and vice-versa. This one is much more fun, however, and the easiest to use of all the versions I've tried. I like the addition of the sound effects, the ability to turn them off, and that someone thought to make the sound consistent with the number of dies rolled. It would be nice to have the option for Shake to Roll. Keep up the great work! Great game and highly recommended.

  • Great, addictive game... A little too one-sided

This game has nearly The perfect set up for addiction - very simple and easy, fast moving, and the end game leads you directly into a new game. I'd love to rate it 5 stars, but it's drawback is just too frustrating to overlook. The AI is not that smart - it typically continues to roll until it's used at least 4 dice (unless it gets 3 of a kind) - which means it very often farkles. To overcome this, however, it seems the devs gave it a higher chance at rolling higher point turns - 1500, 2000, & 2500+ pt turns. Unfortunately, it's tuned a little too far to the AI's favor. It's extremely frustrating at times when you are farkling 3, 4, or more times in a row having only kept 1 or 2 dice, while the AI is rolling through the dice 2 to 3 times every third or fourth turn. You can win, just not nearly as often as the AI.

But, frustrating as it is, it's still simple and quick enough that it's still addicting. Fix the AI, and this is a 5 star game, hands down.

  • Ranks second of the four I tried

In preparation for a family reunion I've been brushing up on all the games we played as a kid. This one (Farkle, Zilch), was, and is my favorite. But this particular app is second of the four I tried. I really like the interface; large beautiful dice, good use of limited space, but there are really no options in scoring (to include small or large straights, etc.). Also, there is no automatic scoring, or suggested scoring (while one might argue, figuring out the score is part of the game, if you want a fast game, this would be a nice option). It also puts an extra, needless "you got Farkle" dialog (even for the computer) that must be pressed before going on. It's annoying to have to press continue when the computer gets farkle.

  • Awesome game!

Totally worth the money!! Better than playing with actual dice and computer adds up score for you which moves the game along quickly. It is great to play while waiting in line somewhere. You can alter computer "player" speed which is nice. There is a balance between you winning and computer winning. Also unlike real live game where you can have many loser rolls, this game usually offers decent rolls to make you feel satisfied. Love the "turn the screen function" when playing with another real person. I retired my dice for good! Also nice big computer dice. Great job!
