  • Good algorithm makes it a challenge

Pleasant diversion. Computer play is generally deep enough that it often takes some concentration to win. Keep in mind that first player usually wins on an odd square, second player on even (in a thoughtful game) and that good defense usually trumps good offense. To improve the game I'd allow players to see the board upon completion. Rob Crane.

  • Glitchy in 4.0.2 on 3G iPhone.

If you don't press "new game", the old game or some random game stays loaded if you exit. Sometimes it gets stuck there. Then you have to start over to clear the board. This never happened in 3.1.3. I'm using a 3G which can't do background tasks and I wonder if that has something to do with it. The game is staying stuck in the background somehow but cannot clear.

  • Awesome app, Even more awesome developer! IMPROVEMENTS HERE

i love this game and tic tac toe. The only thing this game needs is the same update the tic tack toe recived wich remembers names and other setting. Another thing that could be added is when you are about to make a move, please highlight the row that is selected. there have been a few games that i lost that i thought i was selecting a row, but it put the move in the one to the left or right. I wish i could donate to the makers. Hit "yes" to make checkers or chess the next great app by these devlopers!

  • Great app

I play it every night. Could definitely not say that I win a lot (but that's exactly why I appreciate it so much) can't say anything about the colors, looks good to me .... They're basic colors!!! I mean, how were the colors before?? As I said looks great to me, and didn't crash once. Thanks for some great entertainment!! :)

  • Four Stars For Game, One Star For Update

I've never written a review before, but the latest update to this app was so shockingly bad that I felt like I had to say something. Not only are the new colors ugly, but they make the game very difficult to play (and not in a good way). I don't know if the developers got sued by the makers of Connect Four and had to change the colors, but even if they did, how they could choose these two colors as the replacements is beyond me. I'll give Optime Software a few weeks grace period to change it back, before I delete this thing for good.

  • Love the actual game.

I downloaded this app expecting that I would get a free version of four in a row and not have any problems. That's true, there are no gameplay problems that I have noticed. I love the game, so decided to download one for my ipod. However, I am removing this as well as all other free software from Optime Software from my ipod because of the abundance of ads. When waiting for the game to load, if you touch almost anywhere on the page, you are sent to the app store (ditching your progress in loading) and shown the app you accidently clicked on. I have downloaded several apps with ads, but this is by far the worst. I would need the loading screens ads removed before considering raising the rating.

  • Time killing fun

This is a fun app to kill time. I play this game the most out of my 20 apps, and it's free so you might as well get it. I've beat the hard computer 1000 to 592 so far, and still going. And once you learn how smart the computer is, you'll be able to kick your friends' butts at connect four ;) again? Great time killing app for a quick game. Load time is fast as well.

  • Great Great Game

I don't normally write reviews on iTunes, but I've played this game for the past couple of months and think it's great. The graphics are clean and simple, yet appealing. The game itself is basic -- but perfect for those five minutes that you're in line somewhere. The program could easily charge $.99 and be a best seller. It's free, though, and that's what makes it one of the best programs on iTunes.

  • All time favorite!

This is my all time favorite game! The app works beautifully and I especially like that when I play against the computer The computer doesn't play the same strategies every time. Great game ! Also check out Natural Cures. A new free app that I think is very cool too.
  • Two player

I absolutly love this app. But in two player mode ( which I use slot with friends at school) it would be nice of the board automatically turned so that if you are sitting across from someone, you don't have to constantly turn the actual iPod around so they can see the board correctly.
