New update...
Works great with 2.2 but the new interface is horrible. What happened? Either go back to the original or give us the option to choose. Major misstep here.
EDIT: Gave this a bad review after the upgrade that changed the interface to bubblegum puke. Apparently the developers read all the bad reviews including mine and brought back the classic red and black game. Thank you for listening to us. Gonna go grab this "upgrade" now and see if it's fixed. I got rid of the one star rating as well but dropped a star for the ugly icon that needs to go back to classic as well.Show lessTheKingfish
Loved the old game
I liked the old game and allowed myself to hope that the new graphics would be better. They aren't. I liked the old contrast between black and red. The new color scheme just makes it harder to see (and thus, harder to plan). Add in an option on the option screen to go back to the classic style, please!

Great game, horrible colors
The game is great, but why did you had to change the colors. It used to be black and red dots, that was perfect. New colors hurt my eyes. I cannot play it for too long. Some people are very sensitive to the brightness of the colors. This color contrast is horrible. Developers please change the colors back to the way they were. EDIT: I just discover you can change colors back to the old version in options/main menu. Thank youShow lessKessee
Still bad
Let's see, how many ways does this not measure up to its competion? First the design. Neither the new nor old version look like a real connect 4 or Capain's Mistress. The sound is cheesy and electronic, not realistic either.
On the the user experience. It is missing what turns out to be a key feature on these tiny touch screens, a targeting system that activates when you press the screen and doesn't release the piece until you let go. That way you don't accidentally drop in the wrong place.

Great way to pass time.
We enjoyed playing this while waiting at the doctor's office. New colors are great, too. To the spoiled techno-kids who give bad reviews for trivial things.....make your own program, try to market it and wait for reviews like yours.

This game is great! The only thing you have to do is be careful where you touch because you can put a marker in the wrong spot but the undo feature helps most of the time. As for the ads, if you are not connected to the Internet then you get them...great bonus for iTouch users.Archer290

i love this game and tic tac toe. The only thing this game needs is the same update the tic tack toe recived wich remembers names and other setting. Another thing that could be added is when you are about to make a move, please highlight the row that is selected. there have been a few games that i lost that i thought i was selecting a row, but it put the move in the one to the left or right. I love connect four and have found myself really hooked on this game. It has a nice simple interface and is great for when you have a spare minute or if you just need to kill time. The AI is good and is not predictable.
My only (minor) complaint is that you can't be black in single player mode.rupl
great, but needs some additional IMPORTANT features.
very simple, easy to use connect four. but, i have found that playing with 2 people can be frustrating. when the New Game button or the Four Free button to change settings its hit, the game starts over. dialogues are needed a la sol-free, "are you sure you want to end the current game?" i have seen 3 intense games in a row ruined by the accidental tapping of both of these buttons. also, include an undo button while in 2 player mode as those who are not used to the touch screen on the iphone/ipod touch sometimes make mistakes when tapping. other than the abrupt clearing of games, this is a great free app that has challenging AI with the ability to play friends.Show lessOriginalZZZZZ
