Used to work

Used to work great but must have been an update because now it keeps asking for permission to access location and it is marked to give permission while using in privacy settings. It used to say use location always but now just while in use. Emailed but says answer within 48 hours. Doesn't do me any good when I need it now. Why did you break a working product? Will look for another app.

Lightroom

I use it with Lightroom to tag photos and it works like a charm. Great for tagging photos across cameras. Not a huge impact on battery life. Love the Dropbox integration. Hooray for this great app.

Rock Solid

GeoTagr has never let me down, even when other apps have. When tracking absolutely, positively has to work, I use GeoTagr.

It’s perfect for photography, as well as tracking hikes and road trips. It estimates remaining battery, uploads tracks to Dropbox, and offers a clock readout for synchronizing my camera. Couldn't ask for more.

Excellent simple app, use it whenever I travel

I am a big fan of the simplicity and reliability of this app. I use it with my Sony NEX when traveling and find it a reliable way to add location information to the photos. Additionally, location data can be easily exported to other apps in multiple formats.

Great app for iPhone uploads to cloud!

Works well, easy to transfer photos from my DSLR to my iPhone using an SD card adapter.

This app quickly Geotags my photos and up to the cloud and social media they go! Convenient workflow that works without a laptop. Good for use in the field or a long car trip.

Killing battery after stopping the log

It seems to generally work ok, though the interface and workflow could be nicer and more intuitive. Once you get the hang of it, it is functional, however.

I noticed today that my battery had been killed quite fast through the morning. I had stopped a track last night via the watch app, and the phone app did not show a track being logged. None the less, the iOS battery settings page showed that GeoTagr had been sucking down battery. May be a bug.

Revised my review: great customer service!!!

captures the track, and uploads to dropbox... and I had a issue getting LightRoom to show the GPS. The support team worked hard to diagnose things for me, and I found that you need to SYNCHRONIZE the lightroom folder in Lightroom. without that, the GPS didn't show. synching solved the problem.

Great, simple app with lots of options

This app is very easy to use but has just the right level of customization available. I like the configurable update intervals when creating tracks, so I can control battery usage. Exporting tracks and geotagging photos on other devices (even a Mac) could not be simpler. Great stuff!

Works Great

If you don't have GPS on the camera this works great. Make sure you sync the clocks on the two devices.

Simple, useful app -- 3 years later!

Nothing has changed my opinion of this useful app. My only fear is that the developer might one day not get enough support to keep this app up to date. I would gladly pay for it on a yearly basis. One feature i just learned from the developer is that tracks can be saved as .gpx files -- I often use the app to keep track of where i've been, so this new-to-me gpx feature will make things even better!

I picked this app because of all the apps I checked out it had the least amount of rigmarole to create and manage tracks. Even if you don't use it to tag your photos, the little map it creates and then can be turned into a JPEG is a nice history of any trip you take. Note: the time is stored in phone time, not some sort of timestamp. As you cross time zones, you may find that your phone changes the time but your camera does not. Since the time set up on my camera is tedious, I found it just as easy to go into the phone settings and set time to match camera time. this is a klooge no matter how you handle it, but the app has no choice, given the limited ability of most cameras to create a timestamp.

Saving a track as a .gpx file is already possible. Go to the Tracks tab, select the track and on the track detail tap the action button (top right). A standard iOS share sheet will appear where you can email a GPX file, save it to Dropbox, etc.
