Would be fantastic but eats battery even when closed

This app does exactly what it promises. Easy to use. Great solution, I thought, for geotagging pictures taken with my Sony cameras. Then I realised my battery was going down at about twice the normal rate. Ok. Expected. Better remember to turn it off. I closed the app (swiped it out of switcher). Battery still going down. I opened it again, changed to lower power mode (wifi hotspot location services) AND quit the app. A few hours later, iOS warns me the app has been using my location in the background. Sure enough, battery monitor in settings estimates this app accounted for 51% of my battery usage, even when I'd quit the app.

Real shame.

Does what it says

Really simple, really works.

Disappointing

Klunky interface not optimized for iPhone 6. Why can't I just share a track from Gaia GPS app? Why do I need to use this app's inferior tracking capability? Very limited Dropbox support (why do tracks need to be in only one folder?). Why does app not find photos in my library that have no geotag when I know which these are?
Just not worth the bother of all of the restrictions. I'll just wait until I get back to my Mac and keep using PhotoLinker.

The best geotagging app!

This is one of my most valuable apps on the iPad and iPhone.
The new update brings the long expected watch app, which looks and works very good. What I would like to see in the next update is a complication and a glance for quick access.

Following my overall review for the app:

It is great! Simple 'apple-like' design. Very functional as well! You can export a gpx via various ways (email, dropbox...) or you can tag your photos directly if you have a mac. Just make a folder on the desktop, put the pictures inside, include the folder in the os x system preferences' sharing tab and then just go to the app and choose the mac shared folder option! It then automatically adds the location data to the photos, after which they are ready to be imported into aperture/lightroom and there they are displayed on the map.
You also have an option to tag photos on ipad. Imagine this: you take pics and record your track with your iphone, you import the pics into your ipad with the camera connection kit, then you just start the app on both devices and push the button! It is that simple to add location to your photos!
And you pay just 5$ for the app, not 500$ for the canon's/nikon's gps device...
Great e-mail support as well! The developer is very nice, responds quickly and helps every time! If you want a new feature, you can request it!

Superb geotag for photos

To update my earlier comment: the latest app update which allows option to automatically delete the original photos is a god-sent! Used to have to delete them manually, and going through and selecting some 200+ photos to do this was quite a pain. But no more! Fantastic new feature!

Ever come back from holiday to find that you have to merge photos from different devices from different family members?

Now, import them all and geotag them!

Very easy to use and does exactly what it says. Don't leave home without it!

Apple Watch addition is great

I love this app and have used it often while traveling (especially internationally). It's great to see it gain support for the Apple Watch too. Pausing a track or adding a location manually without having to pull out my phone while shooting is a great way to make it even more convenient to use. The watch app has large buttons that are easy to tap. It loaded pretty quickly too!

Great app that works really well with iCloud Photo Library

This app is fantastic for geotagging photos I've imported from my camera. It's very simple to use, has excellent export options for the tracking paths it creates, and many options for tagging photos on different services and a computer. I've not found any other app that has even half so many export and tagging options.

The logging process is obvious and doesn't drain my battery unduly.

I mostly use it with iCloud Photo Library, with which integration is perfect. It only takes a couple of clicks, and if I revert to an original picture, the geotag sticks. I do wish I had a little more control over the actual tagging process (clearer previews, the ability to exclude some photos without having to resort to a workaround involving albums), but it's reliable and means I'm never stuck without location information in my pictures.

Brilliant

This is the best designed geologging app for the iPhone. I love how you can tag photos without software on your Mac as it tags photos on your local network. Highly recommended.

Doesn't tag

I bought this to tag photos on my iPad. It doesn't display any of the sync'd photos and won't tag anything not taken directly on the device (which are pretty much already tagged by iOS). Deceptive description on the App Store, buyer beware!

$6.49 written off. :-(

Great app for photographers.

This is app is a must need for serious photographers that want to use an iPad in there workflow to tag geolocation. Amazing support !
