  • Fantastic

Love it!! It's my cookbook for everything and best thing is I can take it with me in my pocket so when I'm at the store and I forget what ingredients I need I can just pull out my phone and get on here and find out! I love that I an share it on facebook cos all my friends who don't have an iPhone or smartphone ask me for recipes all the time. It's the best app ever and the person that said they weren't happy cos once they signed up they had to pay for the services I don't know how that happened cos it's been totally free for me!!!

  • :)

This is quite a good app! It's so useful when u don't know what to make and when u want to know what u can make with the ingredients u have. It could maybe include a converter so ppl can use it if they can only use the metric system like Australians not Americans. Also, it's kind of sad for us users that we have to pay to be able to use the better features. Otherwise, wow it's great!

  • Great

No longer need a cookbook. Every recipe in one place.
  • Good app but a few flaws

I like this app, it certainly seems to have the broadest selection of recipes, certainly out of the free apps. But it needs a bit of thought to the design.

Loads of recipes don't have pictures, which I guess isn't the developers' fault, but it's always helpful to see a photo. Allowing anyone to upload a photo to any recipe would help.

The search results display in little boxes, so if the recipe has a long title it just gets cut off and replaced with dots....bit difficult to select a recipe if you have no photo and can't read the full title.

And lately they've added advertising, which I don't mind in a free app, but the position of the ads at the bottom of the screen means I now can't scroll down to the page navigation cos it's hidden behind the ad! I can pull the screen up but the I can't select the next page so now I'm limited to recipes on page one only.

So I'll keep this for now....but it's getting a bit frustrating. Devs please take note!!

  • 4 and a half. ( read it's important)

Pros: not just one type of food and over 1,600 recipies. I, personally, have been looking for a "how to cook good sushi for free" app for ages but this is free and has over 76 sushi recipies. Yet you should not delete the e-mail with you temporary password as it's easy to forget It. If your on gmail you can check your mail on the free google mobile app. Also good if you've only got left overs and no supper or have a growing long for some quay lime cheesecake I haven't checked for it yet.

Cons: presentation is a bit scruffy some recipies are a bit iffy and you can only add favs unless you make an account which ethier slows you down cause of
    Ads or costs 3$ (£2.25p).

  • Awesome 4students

This has zoo many recipes in it it's awesome when the fridge is emptying out and u can search ingredients. It would get the extra star if you could save the favourites to your iPod
  • great

it crashed before I downloaded but I don't think that has anything to do with the app . apart from that it is very handy and recommended !*****
  • Quality

Good app. Bit slow sometimes but most of time fine. Recipes are user submitted so you may want to ammend them slightly to your taste. I'm from England and have no problem with there being lots of American dishs. There are plenty of vegetarian options and quite a lot of meat dishes could be changed to suite vegetarians so this is no problem. Also included are diabetic options. Would like to see the application released as a full download to reduce losing times but all in all a very useful app for less money (free) than any cooking book. So there!

  • Fantastic for Shopping after Work

This application has changed the way I shop. On the way home from work I stop at the supermarket and get all the ingredients for dinner. Having the recipes on my phone is heaps more convenient than paper cookbooks that sit on the shelf and only get taken out on weekends. PS: I use the free iPhone app called Units to convert USA measurements into metric.

  • Good start

This kind of app is long overdue on the iPhone. This is a good start guys but some room to make it really great. I have used Big Oven on a PC for over a year, I really like using it to enter in my favourite recipes from my many cook books, from magazines and that I receive on bits of paper from friends. Easy to find them all in one place. You just need a login to their website and you can enter as many as you like. I have been wishing and a hoping for this to then be available on my iPhone so I can find a recipe when on holidays, at the supermarket etc. This app does just that if you save the recipes as Favourites, just open the app and hit the heart, but it looks like it is not saving the recipes locally on the phone so you need a wifi or phone connection. It would be great if the Favourites and Try Soon recipes were local on the phone. Other functionalitIy that would be great to bring accross to iPhone is shopping list, meal planner etc. Perhaps have this in a paid app for a small fee. This kind of app is so useful and Big Oven have been doing this for a while so seem to have the backend website to support it.
