Plays better checkers than other apps but is very limited by making same opening moves always. Can't someone put out an Apple app that is comparable to many pc programs in AI strength and utility?KCRJim

Lots of personality...for a checkers game. After a few thousand rounds you'll begin to understand what's meant by that. Good company in deep nights.
Don't care for having to diddle with a dialogue when making a double, and newer apps do away with this. If implemented, highlighting the route through multiple jumps and allowing these to be completed with minimal finger movements/dialogues would simplify play.

Great time passer
Great game. I have found the way to beat it. I plan against the computer and usually go 30-40 wins to 1-5 losses. I won't give away the secret or the way to get a draw when you're in trouble .
a hint the computer is programed to play a certain way which I discovered is predictable play counter intuitively
It's fun to attack from different positions and see if your strategy holds up. Great game play any where while your waiting.
Only issue is crashes. You're playing and suddenly everything is wiped out. I've had several editions and all have the same problem including the latest.Show lessPapa apple
Pretty good, but not perfect
It's just checkers - what can I say? Not the best looking interface in the world but it gets the job done. Plays a pretty mean game at the higher levels. I have experienced one instance where it locked up and would not make a move even though it was the app's turn. The app itself was still responsive to commands, it just wouldn't make any moves.Show lessNWOhioDave
Love everything but the crashes
I play this game every day on the hardest difficulty and I think it has the best ai out there. It is challenging but can be beat. The only thing I hate is it crashes ocasionally for no reason and resets to zero wins and losses. In previous versions I could get over 200 games without a crash now it will crash before 60.Show lessGabrielValles
