Great use of technology
Multiplayer is awesome with voice chat on. The designers need to work out a way to run the app staying connected to a multiplayer game and send push notifications when it is your turn. That way you can catch up on email while waiting for your next move.
In addition, the option of text chat should be included as an option. Voice chat has limitations in noisy environments.
Ask the question: how can I allow 2 friends to play a game over the course of a week? Where they come and go but make a move when they get a chance.Show lessDC_1_2
Best chess app I've found!
This is overall the best chess app I've found for my iPhone! The Pgn support is good 4/5! I use this app to play my email chess games, works great I can disable all the openings and chess engine because of course using them would be illegal in an email match! I have one suggestion though! There is no resign feature or draw offer. I own fritz and shredder for iPhone and although they have some great features tchess is my main chess app! Keep up the great work!Show lesssmitty256

Just go and buy it. In my opinion, it is the best chess software ever. The user interface is extremely beautiful. You would think this software is natures own creation, like an eye! It is that good. A must buy for chess lovers
An excellent and enjoyable app which is clearly the result of a lot of thought and hard work
Strengths include:
- Best in class range of options and features for both gameplay and display
- Clear & crisp graphics (essential for handheld chess!) - The new staunton set is also lovely.
- Ability to set multiple profiles allows different ratings for blitz and standard games etc
- Flexible range of playing options/levels and strength (elo) settings which always gives me a suitable partner.
- Engine has proven pedigree which will be more than strong enough for the vast majority.
- The developer is committed to making further improvements.
Things to note:
- Elo settings could perhaps be a little more realistic, the engine tends to play stronger than its rating particularly at lower levels (however this is better in the lastest version).
- for engine 'tweakers' only (not an issue for anyone else) - there are limited settings to tinker with the engine itself (eg no personalities).

Better than expected
Having already bought Fritz, Shredder and Hiarcs I was expecting this to be not so good as it's been around longer....but I prefer it. A more complete package, visually better (once you change the graphics of the board to your liking) and a plenty strong enough engine (casual players will find a 2500 strength engine MORE than enough) and more options which are well implemented with none of the irritating quirks that each of the aforementioned apps seem to have...

It's worth every penny!
I had not enjoyed chess this much in years. And I love its analysis. Since I bought it I do not mind line ups. And if your ego gets overinflated ... just crank up the difficulty level to get a royal beating. For fun, I had it play it against the Chess of my MacBook. I got shredder and fritz, and I would recommend Tchess pro to anyone. However shredder have better human artificial intelligence, Tchess pro is the strongest of them allMot$|¥
great chess app -- powerful but accessible
One of the very best chess apps. Powerful engine for strong players, still an excellent engine for casual players. I think it's a chess app that someone could really grow with as a player.
