  • Not creating new games

Unfortunately it just hangs and no new Kakuro games are accessible.
  • New version great now.

Great app love the auto generated puzzles. Never get bored. New version great now.
  • Love this game

The update last week made the game unplayable so I contacted the developer and he has improved it so much it’s almost back to its previous playability.

Do the updates and then chose the classic game format, you won’t be disappointed 😊😊😊
  • Needed update fixed problems

Many problems solved in recent update, thank you.
  • Thank you

The latest updates are great. The app is playable again. Thanks for listening to the users.
  • Ruined by the update

I used to love this app. The update has ruined it. Tiny, illegible numbers and low contrast mean it’s become almost unusable.
Edited to add: the latest update has really improved the interface. It’s still a bit slow though.
  • Upgrade? Really???

I’ve been using KakuroX for decades, literally. It’s been my “go to” game on my iPad. The update has ruined the game for me. The biggest problem for me is trying to move from one square to another. Sometimes the square tapped becomes highlighted, but more often then not, it does not. It has slowed the game down to a crawl. I play the game for relaxation, not the aggravation I’m now experiencing. Please fix the problem or reinstate the previous version.

  • Hard to play on a phone

New version works ok on an ipad but if you’re trying to play on a phone the numbers at the start of each row/column are really hard to read. Bigger size? Different colours? Or perhaps go back to what worked well?

I’m sure there are good improvements under the bonnet, but the front end has more minuses than pluses.

  • Hard to see numbers

I would have rate this app 5 out of 5, but with the new update they changed the colours and it is very hard to see the numbers! And that is basically the game? They need to allow us to either choose our own colours and/or at least increase the contrast so the numbers are easier to see.

..... OK, after torturing myself for a week or so I finally deleted the app off of my iPhone and iPad. It is unplayable! In addition to not being ably to see the numbers, the program runs so slow that you have to repeatedly press the numbers for the game to accept you inputs.

  • Three steps backward

The new version of the game was released on the same day that I upgraded from my iPhone 12 to an iPhone 15, so at first I thought something went wrong during the upgrade and transfer of the app, but then I saw that it was also changed on my iPad.

    First, the positives:
    * It finally supports landscape mode on both iPhone and iPad!
    * It looks like in the future it may support Kakuro boards larger than 9x9, although the fact that it doesn’t seem to yet is an annoying tease (take a page from Apple’s playbook and don’t say anything until the feature is ready to go).

The negatives, which outweigh the positives by a large margin:
    * The color changes for both the numbers and the board itself make it extremely difficult to read. Please give us the ability to set custom colors for all assets, or at least let us toggle back to the color palate of the previous version.
    * Related to that is the fact that there’s virtually no contrast between the numbers when it’s showing the possibilities, and it doesn’t subtract used numbers from the total like the previous version did, making this feature unusable. Please give us the option to return to the way it worked before.
    * The game becomes non-responsive for seconds at a time: tapping on a square doesn’t always move the focus, double-tapping to clear pencil marks frequently doesn’t register, and the game often misses it when I enter pencil marks in the first place.
    * Puzzle generation actually takes longer, not just on my iPad but on my new iPhone 15 compared with the iPhone 12 I just upgraded from.
