3.1.1

- Apple Pencil support: force touch, or double-tap the pencil to roll. - Force touch support for devices running iOS 9. - Haptic feedback support for older devices. - Haptic feedback is now disabled when in Low Power mode. - Now you can move between pages when the dice tray is out. - Force touch was not working if 3D Touch sensitivity was set to hard; now it does. - Touching dice to the right or left of the page dots is now handled correctly, and doesn’t change pages. - Locked dice are now moved inside the view the moment you stop dragging them around the screen, causing less issues with dice disappearing because of a change in view dimensions. - On iPhone and iPod touch, quickly switching to Pip from an app with the keyboard out doesn’t cause a visual glitch anymore. - The touch that opens the color picker cannot also change the color slot after the fact. - Touches on the color tray behave like touches on the color indicator, offering better user feedback, and disallowing opening the color picker if the finger moves.

3.0.1

October 18, 2018

3.0.1 is the Slimmer, Cat-Proof Update: - Fixed a crash found by Holden the Cat, happening when furiously trying to add more d10s after the page is already full. - Fixed a crash found by Pip's Old Guard, happening by the rust of Pip 2.0 still on their devices. - Pip 3.0.1 is between 16% and 40% the size of version 3.0, depending on your device. - Locked state of dice is now saved when you exit the app. - Fixed shadows not showing up correctly in older devices. - Fixed tray sensitivity, causing it to sometimes not opening but still making the sound as if it did. - Fixed an issue that would make dice go under the tray when opening app. - When device enters Low Power mode, Pip renders at 30 frames per second instead of 60 to save battery. - Walls are now sloped in so dice are never rendered outside the screen. - Dice are thrown with a more random strength when double tapping. - Rendering reflections faster.

Description of Pip

Pip 3 gives you blazingly fast, true random dice rolls, for role-playing games like Dungeons & Dragons®, Fate™, or Dungeon Crawl Classics, and tabletop games like the Yahtzee® dice game. It features an intuitive interface that gets out of the way, and lets you roll, touch, and organize your dice with ease, super fast startup times, unobtrusive sound effects, and the best battery efficiency of any 3D dice. INTERACTING WITH DICE - Shake the device, double-tap, or force touch any empty space in the page to roll. If you have a second generation or better Apple Pencil you can also double-tap the pencil itself to roll. - Tap a die to lock it, tap it again to unlock it. Locked dice will not roll. Tap any empty space to unlock them all. - Move dice around with your finger or fling them against each other. - On iPhone and iPod touch, tilt your device right or left to slide dice on the page. ADDING AND DELETING DICE - Slide the tab on the right side of the screen to access a tray with different types of dice. Drag them out of the tray to add them to the page. You can have any combination of up to 20 dice on a page. - To delete dice from the page drag them back into the open tray. - To access Fate/Fudge Dice™ and Weird Dice (d3, d5, d7, d14, d16, d24, and d30), slide the tab farther to the left. If you slide the tray all the way out, the default dice set will switch back and forth. - Close the tray by sliding the tab back towards the right. COLORS - While the tray is open, choose from a selection of eight vibrant colors on the left side of the screen. - To change the color presets, long press on one of them to open the color picker. Close the color picker by tapping on the left hand of the screen again or any empty space in the page. GROUPING DICE INTO PAGES - Create up to 20 pages to save different dice combinations on each one of them. To create a new page, slide left from an empty space on the last page. - Move between pages by sliding right or left from any empty space. - Delete a page by deleting all the dice on it, and then moving to a different page. - Move dice between pages by holding them with one finger while moving between pages with another. IPAD SUPPORT - Orientation changes, trackpad gestures, Apple Pencil… Pip works on iPad like a charm. - Multitasking support in both Split View, and Slide Over. You can see your character sheet and your dice at the same time. DISCLAIMERS - Pip doesn't feature dice formulas, logs, or automatic dice roll result calculations. - Pip is not a game on its own! It is a physics-based dice simulation for games you already own. * DUNGEONS AND DRAGONS® and D&D® are trademarks of Wizards of the Coast LLC, a subsidiary of Hasbro, Inc., in the United States and other countries. Reviews of Pip

  • Absolutely wonderful

This little dice rolling app is the absolute best for virtual dice in your pocket! The play action and dice selection is so versatile as you can select any number of dice, mix or match colors as well as hold and roll options. Very intuitive and easy to use. And best of all, the app performs well with many dice!

I’m so glad they updated it to keep it around.
  • The Best Dice Roller App, Period

From d3 to d30, this is the app for when you have no real dice to throw.
  • Next best thing.

The next best thing to rolling dice. A great way to always have your dice with you. I just discovered the new dice sets. Awesome!
