Good info but bad what-if.
Terrific tools section and extensive setup options. No way to set an intermediate Sykes stop on deep dives before deco. Bad: computes are not real time so it's hit or miss when selecting gas mixes.
Version 1.04
I use V-Planner on the PC and being available on the iPhone was a must have for me, it works much better now than in earlier versions and very easy to use when not near a computer. As mentioned in another review the ability to export by email or save would be very useful. The tools are also a great compliment to the app especially the best mix planner for nitrox or trimix. Overall, anyone looking to plan dives using the iPhone should definitely consider this software as this in my view is the most comprehensive and useful dive planning software available for a PDA.

Version 1.04
I have been using v-planner for several years and the pda version has more capability than the Iphone version. I recently asked why the Iphone version 1.04 does not allow for lost gas or contigency calculations (5 deeper and 5 minutes longer for instance), but after 3 days have not received a response. The I phone version is user friendly like many of the applications, but definitely not up to par with the desk top or PDA versions. Hope HHS software will add these capabilities soon.

Pretty good software. Major functionality missing is the ability to email the plan or save it.
Getting Better
The latest version is a definite improvement over the previous version, as it now remembers dive plan details when the app is re-opened. This feature only seems to work for Dive #1 right now though. When they manage to get that working for multiple dives, I think it will be a solid 4 stars. Adding an option to email dive plans would be very nice as well, as this is included in some other iPhone Deco planners.

OSX and iPhone icons
Great application, all that's needed are nicer looking icons for OS X and iPhone...Looking forward to them!

Stability has improved.
The controls are more responsive now. Still, some, like the button sliders controlling some of the settings, are still sticky and don't seem effectively implemented.
It is nice to have the settings available from the program. However, in doing a series of dives you have to hop back through all the dives to get to them. That's not great and requires re-entry of data.

Sets a whole new standard for deco software. Great job! Runs flawlessly
Good Beta Version
Works well - could save having to take a computer on dive trips.
Frustrating to have to keep re-entering plans when switching between applications (eg answering phone or using calculator or even just switching between MOD and END calculations. Especially tedious having to re-enter multiple bailouts on CCR dives.
Should be priced to reflect Beta status.
Looking forward to update.
