  • Always out of date . . .

    I keep getting notifications of new posts in watched forums or threads and they are years old and no new posts. Before I realized this I took it for granted that what and where I was being directed to was correct.

    That was until I started getting called out for replying to old threads that were either solved or just old. I'd mention that it was Tapatalk that brought me there saying that there was a new post. Others started noticing that this was happening to them also. Just now I got notification that there was a new post in a 10 year old thread. I looked around and there wasn't one. I've looked and there aren't many settings for "time". But the one I found I set to what one would expect to fix the problem, but it doesn't.

    I love the way Tapatalk consolidates all your subscriptions, but hate using it knowing that 98% of the notifications are wrong.

  • Updates and broken…

    This app is generally pretty good… but when ever the brain trust does an update, it breaks and days go by and sometimes weeks before it’s working properly again.

    They do like to say it’s the websites plug ins not being up to date, but that is not the case one iota.

    Unless there is some inherent reason to force end users to log back in (which we can’t while it’s broken) I don’t see why this is happening.

    Additionally I am a simple paid user of $0.99 a month, not a ton, but when you figure there has to be at minimum 5k people who also pay this said dollar, you’d expect when bug fixes are being fixed, one would fix the log in bug so the app actually works.

    Lastly is the whole no ads via paid… if you see them fronting their crypto… that’s an ad… or suggesting other forums (which is a paid ad via said site they are pimping as a suggestion)

    What was their response to that to me? Oh just close the ad, it won’t show again once you close it… but wait there’s more! Once an update is done, said ad is back, whenever one can log in… which might be tonight or next month.

  • Years Later & Still A Buggy Mess

    I’ve been forced to use this app for years now ever since Tapatalk took over the site my go-to forum was hosted on. The app has been a buggy mess from the day I downloaded it. From having to close and relaunch the apps multiple times just to get posts to load, not being able to view who likes your post, and weird cosmetic glitches like when you switch from dark to light mode all make this app such a pain to use. I paid for premium for a year some time back and I will not be renewing when it’s time. I’d rather use a mobile site at this point.
