  • Really not an app

I liked it until I noticed that nothing I did really changed the annoying piano-synth sound. It's really just best to put it on Listen which is like auto and let Eno lull you to sleep. Indeed if you have trouble sleeping or want to waste your life this is the App for you. Worthless.
  • Random tones

Please give us an option to remove those tones that pop in randomly. Otherwise the app is awesome.
  • Just not responsive...

It's similar to Bloom to be sure, but there is little feedback when u select the notes, hard to tell what u r doing, little difference between create and listen. I like the new droning moods, but maybe too subtle, also hate the grafix, touch the screen and u get an array of spots, why not just a wash of watercolors?

  • iSublime

Like a moody, moving Morris Louis painting with soundtrack, more complex than Bloom (and less prone to New Age noodlings). Worth the price just to see the colors it can produce. There should be many, many more apps this inapplicable, so to speak. Could be one of the last great gasps of Romantic Modernism. Yes, I did say that in an app review.

  • What?!

Ok so I'm not Ross Geller from Friends, though I suspect the writers of the show could have had some fun with this app.

While I enjoy a wide range of different types of music and sounds this app is just ridiculous to me. I never tried Bloom nor do I know Eno so I came in blind.

1 star for creativity, 1 star for making it through Apple's approval process. Can't recommend this to non ambience fanatics.

  • Perfect for drifting off to sleep

While fans of ambient will no doubt love this app, as an Eno fan it holds an even more special place in my heart. No longer will I be stuck listening to the likes of The Shutov Assembly when falling asleep at night as Trope contains many of the base elements that make Eno's compositions so dreamy and compelling. This app, along with Air (and Bloom to a lesser extent) really capture the mood of various Eno recordings over the years. If you're a fan of any of the Ambient series, The Shutov Assembly, or Neroli you'll love this app.

  • Bloom Plus

While I enjoy Bloom quite a bit, the app feels a little too similar in my opinion. And it would certainly be a LOT more enjoyable if I didn't have to deal with the randomly-generated tones infringing on my efforts. Let's see an update on this please... I'd like to create my own soundscapes!
  • Simply mind blowing

Even if you are unaware of these artists, and perhaps have little interest in ambient music, the captative experience of illuminating your screen with delicate water colors that give way to subtle nuances of hums and drones will change your state of mind and actually put you in a better mood. Above all other applications that are supposed to make life simpler, this is something that we need more of. When you need to just relax, this is the best thing an iPhone can provide. Thank you Eno and Chilvers.

  • Beautiful, but where's the variety?

Dubbed as an infinite array of sonic combinations, this app leaves me a bit disappointed in the realm of sonic variation. I've yet to make this app produce anything but the sound of an out-of-tune piano being played slowly underwater. The visuals are impressive but not much more so than the average mp3 player visualization.

  • Trope for the trifecta.

Another great music generator from the minds of Brian Eno and Peter Chilvers. Buying Trope was an easy decision after having enjoyed using Bloom and Air. This app is the perfect addition for fans of ambient music and the works of Mr. Eno.
