Reviews of ESPN

  • Still a great app, but the sports betting information is a problem.

This app is, regardless of what all of the other fools in this reviews section say, intelligently put together and run smoothly. Everything that you need is right there. The issue that I have is on the scores tab where all of my favorite teams are listed. I don’t bet. you have put so much bedding information on the main page that it is difficult to scroll through, especially for a voiceover user, just to get the scores for my favorite teams. It’s very cluttered. There was nothing wrong with the way it was before when all you had to do was click on the game and all of the betting information was right there. It wasn’t like it was difficult to find in the first place. Now the scores page is just cluttered and difficult to access for people with vision issues. I don’t even have the issues with the bedding information being easily accessible… It’s great for those who use it. Just don’t clutter up important information with this stuff and force people who don’t need it at all to have to find scores and game information inside all of that sports betting clutter.
  • Staring, switching streams is a nightmare

It is unreal how difficult it is to start and switch streams. Let’s take today’s game for an example: game for ESPN is delayed 10 minutes from 6 to 6:10. My game starts on ESPN+ since the prior game on ESPN hasn’t finished yet. Problem 1: If I hit “play” on my stream at 6:00, it will stay on the “your event is about to start” screen well past actual tipoff. It doesn’t switch to start the stream when it starts Problem 2: AFTER the stream starts, I find it and hit play. I’ve already missed the very beginning of the stream since I can’t join it early (see problem 1). Problem 3: I’m happily watching my stream on ESPN+, when the stream cuts out to a loading screen of sorts (presumably the prior game finished on ESPN). Problem 4: I now try to find my game again on the menus, and I do eventually. I click it, and the stream says it hasn’t started yet! Why would one stream cut out (problem 3) when the new one isn’t ready yet (problem 4)? Problem 5: I have to exit out of the stream and find it again on the menus because we established in problem 1 that you can’t stay on a “event has not yet started” or else it may never actually switch to the live feed once it starts. You have to fix these bugs, it makes me loathe it when my team’s games are on ESPN. All of these issues are present on the Roku tv app as well.

  • Ben Harrison, President/owner

ESPN just screwed college football and dismantled any credibility it still had by not choosing FSU. FSU would beat Michigan, Washington and Texas. The only team that would give FSU a real game would be Alabama because they have a running QB. So wins don’t matter? Michigan was the weakest team of the last two CFPs. TCU smoked Michigan last year before getting crushed by Georgia. The best team Michigan has beat in 3 years was last year against a good Ohio State team and that is a rivalry game. Michigan and Washington are way overrated. Don’t get me started on the “who would be favored in what games if FSU was in the playoff?” Oregon was a huge favorite to beat Washington by 9 and lost by 3. How does that justify anything? If that is the method then why play any games? FSU does not need to play a bowl game. I could not recommend to any player which has a good chance getting drafted or play in the NFL that should take a risk to play in a meaningless bowl game; especially after getting shafted by ESPN and the committee? Why would ESPN allow that to happen? More money for ESPN? Playing the ratings hand to decide who plays for a title? This makes me sick. I am done with watching ESPN. I am blocking all ESPN channels from all of my TVs.
