  • Great app.

I like it that you can enter words in either Spanish or English without having to reset. Good range of options including verb declensions and a translation option. For anyone addicted to telenovelas the dictionary backs up standard vocabulary with a good range of modern slang from both sides of the Atlantic!

  • A Great Help!

This app has been a great help to me in learning my second language! It is VERY useful, especially for verb conjugation. I love it.
  • Very useful

I have learned so much. After using Duolingo Spanish for one year, I tested out of four semesters in the local university’s placement exam. You should note, however, that the exam was entirely reading and writing, which Duolingo prepares one well for.
There is, however, no substitute for speaking to a real person and I advise users to find someone to speak with regularly. My speaking ability was not nearly as advanced and I am trying to rectify that now. That is why 4 stars instead of 5.

I have learned more about using verbs in Spanish from the amazing verbs part of this app than anywhere else I have studied. It is fantastic in showing the verb tenses both visually and auditorially. And it’s free. Thank You App Makers, what an amazing accomplishment.
The dictionary is also excellent as it gives the many, subtle differences in meaning for each word depending on the context it is used in.
My only wish is that they had English translations for all the declensions of the verb.
    Sincerely, Bruce

  • Extremely useful

This app is invaluable to my Spanish learning. I use it almost daily. Paying for the full version is worth it, as it removes ads and gives access to about twice the number of verb conjugations as well as some more features. The downsides: it doesn’t give the imperative mood, neither does it give the conjugations for the Latin American ‘vos’.

  • A great app for a beginner

Dictionary is pretty good, verbs are great, though I wish the infinitives could be translated. Also the Quiz is a great way to pass the time, especially while waiting or travelling. Amazing how many words are so similar to English.
I also use the French version (paid) all the time, and the Italian one was really useful for travelling.
Very handy pocket dictionaries - I’ve recommended them to many people.

  • Excellent app for students learning Spanish

This is a great app which I’ve had for a number of years as I’ve been learning Spanish. It has been a very easy to use dictionary from the the beginning of my language learning until now as a more advanced student.
It’s particularly good as a reference for verbs and way more helpful than a standard dictionary. You can look up different conjugations of verbs as they appear in text, and find out the infinitive (or base verb) then find out all of the conjugations of that verb by pressing a button.
The support from Vida Lingua, the app developers is excellent. I was having difficulties with intrusive ads and they responded promptly to assist me to resolve the issue.
    Highly recommended.

  • Very useful

This app is very easy to use. The feature of not having to select your language in advance makes looking up very quick. The dictionary is also pretty comprehensive - it’s a life saver for a beginner, especially since it picks up various conjugated forms so you can figure out what the verb is (or indeed that the mystery word you don’t understand is actually some form of a verb!). My only reason for not giving this 5 stars is the AWFUL synthesised speech that you get when asking for pronunciation. OK, it’s better than nothing but it’s really not clear enough for beginners to use as a guide on how to pronounce things in Spanish!
