Fantastic!
I love smart playlists on my Mac and wanted an app where I could create smart playlists on the go. I use the comments field to tag all my music, so when I'm out I can create a playlist with music that includes those tags, rather than having to create smart playlists on my computer first.SlinkyLinky
Brings back features Apple ripped out in IOS 5
I absolutely DETEST how Apple ripped so much functionality out of the Music app for the iPad in IOS 5. I did a lot of searching for a suitable replacement and ended up buying this app.
SmartPlaylist lets me generate lists by Star ratings again!! I can't figure out how to use this app to actually Rate a song though, which is why I give this app a 4 star rating instead of 5.Show lessSkharz
Needs saving option
Yes, it creates a good playlist similar to iTunes smartplaylist, but it lacks the option to save the playlist, which kind of defeats the purpose for me. I like the option of deleting songs from a playlist and the lack of this feature, as well as the confusing interface makes it almost useless for my intent.Show lessreiha234
Nice app
I really like this app. I use it all the time. It would be nice if you can sort songs by "Grouping" since I have many songs in iTunes grouped under this colum. Other than that is great.D1amante
Needs Work
For some reason it doesn't have a lot of the fields iTunes has, like "date added" and "grouping". Also, it doesn't have iTune's ability to create sub-rule sets. You can get around it by making many smaller playlists and combining them, but that's still bothersome because it doesn't let you have more than 6 playlists at a time. It's nice that it works on the go, but this has way too many flaws to be the default player of anyone who knows how to use iTune's smart playlists properly.
Unless you're going somewhere where you won't have easy access to iTunes, it just isn't worth the money.Show lessEmmic
Keeps getting better
Smart Playlist is now my default music player in my iPod Touch. It's a must-have app for those of us who have thousands of tracks in their Library.true_north_far_east
Stupidest app
I hate this app its ridiculous. Never spend your money on it! It makes no sense. I put in the composer and nothing comes up! I have over 800 songs and this stupid app doesnt recognize any!Butt pirate
Excellent for on the fly PLs
Great for on the fly playlists. Although the UI is a bit ugly, but perfectly workable, once you get used to it.
Also, great customer support. I emailed the dev, and he replied the very next day and answered all my questions. Buy with confidence.Mohammed_M
Much more convenient than iTunes
Now that live-updating is broken with ios4 this app is much more convenient for creating smart playlists than using iTunes. It took me a little while to work it out but it's great to use for someone who manually manages their music.

iPhone wouldn't be the same without it. I wish I had option to save my playlists to iPod app. Loaded with options. Must buy in my book. Please add option to shuffle.b20civic
