  • Rigged Game

If you play on the hard level, the game is so rigged that you can easily tell that the other 3 bots know what cards all players have, including yours and will connive against you so the odds of winning is very slim. It sometimes gets frustrating. It would be nice if its like a real card game when all players have different strategies and game plan. For this game, it's like 3 against 1 with them knowing what cards you have without you knowing what they have. Totally rigged.

  • Fun for a while but very flawed

As others have mentioned, rather than developing competent AI, this game just cheats to make the levels harder. For example, I just witnessed an AI player hold on to the queen of spades (I knew they had it as I was the one who passed it to them) when they could have played it against the AI player currently in the lead and instead passed it off on me later in the game. So, yeah I guess that makes the game harder, but no player would do that in a real game.

So it's Hearts, which is fun. But the gameplay is completely hampered by the lack of good AI.

  • Good

I've gotten used to the controls and the ads aren't as bad as some.
    ---
It seems to work fine, and the AI is challenging. The use of screen space is suboptimal and you have to tap twice to play a card, which is stupid. The played cards are displayed in a row instead of in a diamond, so it's easy to make a mistake. It doesn't lowlight cards you can't play. There's also no auto-play when one player wins the remaining tricks. This would be very useful, developers.

The ads are unobtrusive so I will continue to play.

  • This is a cheating game

I love to play hearts and this seems to be the best free app. However, this is a fixed game and essentially cheats. I am not sure it cheats because it wants to challenge the player or what. But this is game of chance and hands should be dealt randomly and by chance not fixed to challenge the players - it is ridiculous!!

  • 2 stars not 3!

If this game played like actual game play it would be great, but it doesn't! Since when is it the objective to constantly play against me rather than chase the low score, which is usually Ann?! The computer players will give up 2-3 cards during play to help each other shoot the moon. Also computer seems to know what cards you pass making it even more difficult to get a feel on what to play! Lastly, the computer will always " conveniently " know just when to set you up for the queen if you've given it to them! I can see I'll be searching for a new hearts game soon!

  • Good but not great

I’m less convinced than the next reviewer that the 3 computer players gang up against the human. Instead, I think they’ve programmed vindictiveness (a strikingly human element) into the program: If you lay the queen of spades on a player, they will, in the next hand, hold off playing the queen of spades (if they can avoid getting stuck with it) until they can give it to you. My one complaint is that, even in the “Hard” mode, the game-play still seems far too easy, with the computer players making lots of mistakes. Unfortunately, that still doesn’t mean that I win regularly, but the game should be more of a challenge.

  • Works well

Fun to play. I would like to see (on the game board) an indication of what level of play I am using. Also, the screen shows points as they are taken. This means I don't have to try to remember how many points (or if) a player has taken. I would like a few more options - we play that points can be played on the first trick and that the Queen breaks hearts. These would be minor improvements on an already good app.

  • Hate the Lyft ad, anybody else?

Others are complaining about the difficulty increase. That is fine by me. What I don't care for is the Lyft ad popping up that I didn't click on, but if I'm not quick enough on the "close it" "x", the game either crashes losing all progress or takes me to the app store. Both options are unacceptable. I just finished one quick game, and the thing popped four times. "Rotate device to enjoy the ride"

    NO! NO! NO!

  • Hearts without having to shuffle the cards!

Fun game. Plays rapidly, The gameplay would be even faster if the game automatically finished the hand for you when all points had been won during the hand. Sometimes I wish the computerized players were a little more skilled, but overall a really fun game of Hearts!
  • The Game is pretty good, but...

I like playing Hearts with this software, but I wish the software was set up for each of the computer players to play to win. Instead, the game is set up for the 3 computer players to team up to keep the 4th player from winning. After playing it a while, it's easy to see that the computer players help each other "Shoot the Moon" and also that each of them is willing to collect points toward the end of the game so that the player is kept from winning. I still enjoy playing it, but would prefer it if the deck wasn't stacked against me from the start.
