Perfect companion to PRTG
If you invested thousands in PRTG then invest $12 in this app. Why wouldn't you want all that PRTG data at your fingertips? We have thousands of sensors and it's great to see them on the iPhone and iPad. Charge your boss the 12 bucks! Excellent app
I normally don't write reviews, but this is worth every penny. My prtg installation has thousands of probes and the app ties perfectly into them. It easily allows me to be off site and still check the probes to make sure everything is running right. Dragging a laptop is no fun, but an iPhone is always with me. The graphs are great, although I really mainly use the app as a status board.Show lessToleroapto
Good but....
Portrait/landscape switching is not working right.... if you flip the iPad landscape perpendicular to the floor and then lie it down on the table it flips to portrait - same on the phone - this needs fixed... the device handles this automatically but it seems like you've written your own orientation mechanism and it FAiLs big time.Show lessDeniolan
Just not quite there yet... But a great start
Love the main monitoring system, it does exactly what is should... Unfortunately, the iPad app falls short.
No landscape mode, doesn't monitor in the background with any reliability... Can't have a map as a favorite...
For the additional money, this should be cleaned up a bit.... Love the products, but will stick to a custom map and a link on the home screen for now.Show lessPhillboo
Must Have App!
After a recent prtg software update, I decided to give iprtg a second try. What a huge improvement over v1! I can now check all my systems remotely without the need of logging! This is a no-brainer, definitely buy this app if you rely on prtg to monitor your systems.1point3
Redeemed
I was one of those reviewers who gave the v1 a one star, would have been a half-star if I could of at the time (paying the original $20, for v1 was "hurtful" to put it mildly. I'm glad to write now that iPRTG v2 is lightyears beyond that of v1, a total redemption on the part of coders and the company!! Bravo team!! The product is very useful now and at a lower price (my luck :P) but good for others! Would be 5-stars if it was really adapted to the iPad instead of doing the iPhone x2 zoom deal, but I'm hopeful. Also I did find a somewhat minor bug, but not a show-stopper by any means. I'll be mailing the devs soon to point out the small issue. Great progress
"it doesn't stretch full screen on my ipad- 1 star" boo hoo- I don't know of any other monitoring tools that offer an iPhone app and PRTG does.. Very cool there have been some complaints about this app in the past and I've seen a ton of development for this iPRTG in the past 60 days. Not 100% perfect but the new v2 is lightyears ahead of v1 - good progress glad to see the product mature. Thx.Show lessScottvd
Do not delete this review, Apple!
I've submitted two detailed reviews for iPRTG and Apple keeps deleting them. I was not unfair or obnoxious. I don't know why Apple deleted the prior reviews, but it's an unseemly act on their part. So now I'm just going to forgo the fair detail and tell you the bottom line:
This app is worthless.
I've been a happy customer of Paessler's NMS package ,PRTG, for years. They are a great company, except for this defect of a product. I'm guessing they outsourced it to some incompetent engineering firm; I don't think Paessler's own programmers could write an app this bad in their sleep.
But outsourcing doesn't explain Paessler's complete lack of support for iPRTG. That failing is all on them. I've submitted detailed problem reports that have been ignored. Yes, I get the standard form email replies; they ignore the issues and make vague promises. It's been weeks now with no response. I've asked for a refund several times. Silence.
The flaws are numerous and fatal. Dont spend a dime on this. And Apple, if you delete this review, I'll take the issue of review censorship to the press.Show lesspi314
