  • Essential for Mobile Tech Managers

Absolutely invaluable when coupled with an on-demand VPN client and a well architected PRTG setup. Allows quick and informative analysis of the enterprise's events - alarmed via SMS and email no matter where you are in the world. Graphing, logs and access to history allow for resource planning, outage briefings and decision making via my iPad inside meetings and with ease.

  • Truly an incredible app

My first 5-star rating. This app has truly allowed me to leave the laptop put away for the weekend. View your entire global network, one datacenter or just one office. Allows you to drill down to see what's going on and does an excellent job of indicating the real problem at a glance.
  • Simply Effective

PRTG is the easiest network monitor to setup and use that I have come across. It's very reliable and feature rich for a system that is just so darn easy to use.

The iPad app is very, very good, but a couple of weaknesses vs the AJAX web UI are the lack of a "single pane of glass" (everything at once) view and the excellent "Top 10" view that provides a quick way to identify problems on your network in various categories. I'm not sure if that is an indictment in the iPad app or just demonstrates how good the PRTG web UI is out of the box.

  • VP of IT

PRTG is an amazing program and monitoring tool. We switched from Solarwinds NPM and could not be happier. This app certainly makes it easier to monitor the network and resources from my phone and iPad.

The app needs push notifications even though you get the emails it would be nice to assign a push alert to a different alert tone.

But all in all its worth the purchase if you already own PRTG.

  • Love it!

I have been using the iPRTG iPhone app since day 1 and this new version is a HUGE improvement over v1! The update period between v1 and v2 seemed an eternity, and I was honestly losing faith v2 would ever see the light of day.

The new version allows me to acknowledge alerts which was my single biggest pet peeve of the previous version. The new status screen is FAST and refreshes quickly - I like the animated progress meter at the top of the screen.

Sensor details are now populated (last check, last up, last down, uptime %, downtime %) and the graphs & channels are quickly available. The # of sensors in each status is easily visible just like with the Windows GUI.

Top 10 lists are available for "Best Uptime", "Slowest Ping", "Highest Bandwidth Usage", etc... which is very nice addition. I am not currently using MAPS in PRTG, but iPRTG supports them which means I may look into this.

I wish I had the ability to view logs and todos.

My only complaint, which others have mentioned as well, is that this app is not native iPad friendly :( I took off one star for that, and hope this is addressed soon.

In conclusion - if PRTG is part of your daily life and have an iPhone, you WANT this app. I am VERY happy with my purchase.

  • Nifty app

I have been reading all the reviews and finally decided to install it on my iPhone. Its been 4 days and I am thoroughly impressed. Nice graphs, clear view of alarms (noted with a few 'gotchas' by many of the reviewers).

I would like to see Paessler provide users with options to create / customize as many dashboards as one likes.

  • PRTG eye of the storm

A nice, simple overview of everything happening around you, especially when routing tables are corrupted or you need to know when abnormal traffic patterns rear their head.

I was blown away by the system's delivery of warnings on deviations on traffic and resource usage, and having it on my iPad means I know within seconds when something goes wrong on my network, or at my colo facilities.

It's not cheap, but it is worth every single cent you pay for it.

  • Looks good but needs improvement

I just purchased this app today so I cannot say I have seen all of its features, but when it comes to the monitoring screen where all devices are listed under a folder, it shows the device name with its selected icon (nice) and below it the number of sensors in warning, error, up or paused state.
Worth mentioning is that is no sensor is in error state, it does not show the word error.
I understand space is an issue, but the use of orange for warning, red for error, green for up and blue for paused could be used to help visually detect devices in distress. As it is now, you have to read carefully the small print to see if there are any showing the word error or warning below each device name name.

  • Every pro should have this!!!

I have a complex network that is critical in nature that any issues be resolved or planned for as the consequences could literally be disastrous! The advanced feature set allows me to produce network diagrams for non-technical personnel to monitor. The application on my phone means I am always making the call into operations before they know there is an issue. I feel blind without this product.

  • Great solution, great app.

We have been meaning to implement comprehensive monitoring for years. The PRTG solution is full featured, flexible, easy to get started and affordable. iPad and iPhone apps are icing on the cake. It's helped us head off numerous storage issues and track down intermittent server issues. I can't recommend it highly enough.
