wouldn’t work, customer service beyond bad
I was a subscriber for a long time when suddenly my access was cut off. I renewed my subscription through the app, but it didn’t give me access. So I did all the troubleshooting (log out, restore purchase, etc) to no avail. Tried to log onto the website, but got stuck in an endless loop. Called customer support and they say the problem is Apple. They were unhelpful and rude. Wanted me to fax a copy of my credit card statement. I asked if I could email it to them because I don’t have a fax machine but the only other option is mail lol. Literally trying to give these guys my money and they were unwilling to help. So I did what they said, I called Apple who told me the problem was Indy star. I’m not dealing with this so u cancelled my subscription and Apple is refunding me my money. Cumbersome
I truly dislike the way the information is organized. I can't tell which articles are new until I click on them. Hate the way you have to negotiate around the minefields of ads that you can accidentally open. Would much prefer a physical paper, but the monthly subscription went to $54, so who wants to pay that much- even to support a free press?Show lessDryadGal
Unable to view Subscriber Content after Subscribing
I subscribed on my iPhone and paid for a one year subscription via the app and iTunes Store on June 04, 2024. Apple shows the paid subscription and sent an email for confirmation of the subscription and a receipt for payment via my Apple Card, but I am unable to view subscriber content a month later.
I have contacted both Apple support and IndyStar support. Apple had me delete the app and re-install it and try to restore the purchase but nothing works. Apple points the finger at Indy Star and says only IndyStar can activate the subscription. IndyStar points their finger at Apple and says they show no payment and no subscription. Both tell me to contact the other and both say there is nothing they can do.
Others seem to have the exact same issue. So, you would think someone would look into this, fix the subscription and restore purchase issue and make their customer accounts work together. Very disappointed in both Apple and IndyStar over their inability to communicate and resolve a simple subscription issue.Show lessBulldogJTH
