10.0.1

March 7, 2017

- Small bugfix for the Filters: It wasn't possible to combine "Include" Filters - Some users wanted to have the status Bar back. iCluster was my first App on the App Store in 2008, the year when the App Store started. This version has been completely rewritten, now in Apples new Development language called Swift 3. I can't remember how often it has been rewritten in the past almost 10 years. This new version has some nice new features (which I already used a lot while testing and in contests and don't want to miss them anymore) like showing the Spots on a Globe and displaying distance and bearing of a call. It's also interesting to see the Grayline-DX spots on the Globe. Settings are now Synchronized via iCloud so you can now easier use multiple devices. Also, in addition to QRZ.com I added HamQTH call lookup and both have been integrated far better than before. Filters and Alarms have also been improved. Even though the App still comes with a lot of pre-defined Servers, it is now easier than ever to add your own Telnet Server like CW-Skimmer etc. Now, there is also a 'real' Manual available for the App, which can be found inside the App or online from here: http://go-to.me/icluster-manual PLEASE NOTE: If you are using a previous version of iCluster, Settings, Filters and Alarms need to be entered again as they are too different in this new App so they can't be imported. Many thanks! vy 73, Marcus, DL8MRE

Description of iCluster

THE ORIGINAL DX-CLUSTER APP iCluster is an iPhone and iPad App for HAMs, SWLs (Short wave radio listeners) or for everybody who want’s to know, what’s going on on the amateur radio frequencies. This App is connecting the so called international DX-Cluster database in realtime. The results are analyzed and displayed in an easy to read overview. The content can be filtered by frequency (e.g. 80m, 40m etc.) or mode (CW = Morse, Beacon or digital modes), Call Prefix, ITU/CQ Zone, Country and many more. Calls (the callsign of the operators) will be decoded automatically by the App. This allows even inexperienced users to know the countries of the operators. iCluster is an ideal tool for amateur radio operators for field days or contests. But also unlicensed users can use iCluster to find out the frequencies for their shortwave scanner or short wave radio receiver. MAIN FEATURES: ■ Real time DX-Cluster database ■ Several pre-defined Cluster Servers ■ Easy to add your own Server (e.g. CW-Skimmer) ■ Several Filter and Filter combinations ■ Several Alarm settings ■ QRZ.com (Database!) lookup ■ QRZ.com website lookup ■ HamQTH lookup ■ Display whole cluster on a Map (Globe) ■ Display single Spot on a Map (Globe) ■ Shows distance and bearing from own location ■ iCloud Synchronization ■ UTC Clock ■ No HAM license or registering required Take a look to the manual to find out more: http://go-to.me/icluster-manual This App exists since the App Store Exists as this was my first App. It has been continuously improved and re-written several times and is now available as Version 12, written in Swift 5. It's interesting to see how many other bad copies of my App are available on the App Store. If there is another DX-Cluster App, offering features my App is missing, just let me know. vy 73, Marcus, DL8MRE

Reviews of iCluster

  • Poor software support for telnet password authentication

This software lacks the reliability and ability for a secured login to a server with a password. The developer seems not to understand the gravity of internet security and refuses to work with me as a fellow customer and developer to solve any issues. Just says “oh, it works for me.”

    AVOID THIS SOFTWARE!
  • Stopped working

Perhaps since the most recent update, this program has stopped working. Pinwheels, crashes, locks up. Had been great in past.
  • iCluster works on iPad

iCluster works on my iPad. When in settings, I need to be in portrait view to see all the buttons. Then switch back to landscape or stay with portrait view if you prefer.
