fab when learning a language
I used to use the website years ago to help with translations. Now I'm using the app for learning German, and finding it way better than a regular dictionary: I always get a translation (even when no hits in the (Oxford) dictionary), lots of definitions so always one I need, and the example sentences are just the best to see how a work functions in 'real life'. Fabulous. AND free!

Security Concerns
This app requires to connect to your local network even when you have downloaded a dictionary to use it offline. No other dictionary requires this. Until they properly explain why they do so without hiding behind the ridiculous excuse “we cannot disclose the technical details”, I prefer to have the app uninstalled.

Good, but add definitions
This application is pretty useful to understand the meaning of words in a foreign language. However, it claims that it is a dictionary, even though it translates words. I wish they would add definitions of words in addition to translations and context.

I do wish it had a pronunciation feature for every language, but it's a good app overall.

This is the best dictionary app, hands down.
But I’m giving it 1 star simply because it crashes and freezes constantly. I’m sure the developer is busy with deepL, but apps crashing really should be a thing of the past, especially given that this is just a repackaged port of their website.
Also, when you tap the search bar, it will not automatically select and/or clear the previous input, so I find myself constantly typing a word, realizing it’s sandwiched up against my previous search term, and going in to edit it. This is a pretty small thing, but then again, it’s contrary to basically all other search bars, and annoying to have to do again and again.

Easy use
A useful app, very fast, multiple answers and helpful information.
So versatile and useful!
I love the Linguee app! One of its best features is the versatility. I am studying several languages on Duolingo, and often flip from there to the Linguee app to find a particular word. The pronunciation feature is very clear, and the many examples of the word in sentences from various sources is also very very useful. I highly recommend this app.
