Please soften the tone of "no" or "wrong". Now the sound in Tibetan is scary.

1. Please soften the tone of "no" or "wrong". Now the sound in Tibetan is scary. It is really discouraging. You can use a female voice to say "no" or "wrong", a bit more love, please.
2. Please add learning for writing. This is good for Tibetan, Arabic, Japanese, and other non-Latin languages. So play the sound. Also, add a half window to practice enlarged words. The iPad is very spacious and suitable. Please, for the iPad version, add this.

Just flashcards

I wish I had a better idea what I was buying when I purchased this, so I will give a heads up to potential future customers. This is about ~270 (may have miscounted) flash cards to learn different words and phrases. There is no introduction to the writing system, and even the romanization is opaque in its pronunciation. Each flash card has two recordings associated with it. You will not be learning to speak Tibetan. No reading, no grammar. This is more of a pocket phrasebook, and since travelers are not welcome in the TAR, you will only be using this in Dharamsala if ever. A disappointing app.

Great but why the micro font size?

Update: This team immediately responded to the comment below. They provided me with a solution that perfectly addressed my concern. Thanks uTalk team!

Old review : I've just started using the app and consider it to be high quality. However, I'm totally baffled why on any given screen the font size is so small I can barely read the Tibetan script. When going one from script to another, it is necessary to read the writing. In this app, I need to do a screen shot and enlarge the font so that I can read the letters easily.

No phrases, just some limited vocabulary

The sound quality is very good, however, this app does not provide useful phrases for travelers. It is a very very limited dictionary of single words. Way overpriced!!!

Thank You!

Finally an app that gives more than just basic script pronunciation. The resources for people wanting to learn Tibetan are very scarce, so I am very appreciative of this app. Yes, there are some basic conversational phrases absent, but I'm so happy that this app even exists in this format (a certain language learning company has ignored Tibetan) I'm willing to overlook that absence.

UTalk Tibetan

This app is structured well mechanically, but is missing the most basic phrase information one would need to communicate with others. ' How are you? What is your name? My name is______, ' for instance, is not here: The game formatting is nicely done, but the most basic information is absent. It is too expensive for being so deficient.

Ingenious

How to teach with almost no effort is bright and fun way.

Great

This is a great app for those wanting to learn a little Tibetan. This is the ONLY app or program that I know of to give you more than just the alphabet. I just hope they update it regularly with new words and phrases. Maybe even add the Tibetan alphabet.

Not for Tibet travel

This would be ok for someone planning to visit the Tibet exile community in India --but then you could just as well speak English. this has newly minted Tibetan words based on English. in Tibet they will use a Chinese word if there is no Tibetan one. Plus,no one needs the Tibetan word for strawberry. Or beach.

The only Tibetan app available

I do like this app. The playback and record feature is particularly useful for those looking to sound as authentic as possible. I like the quizzes, but found them a bit too easy, with some of the answers fairly guessable. However, I am only giving it 4 stars because I found similar apps for other languages that were free. I think the developers would benefit by including some Buddhist terminology in the app as I assume most people looking to learn Tibetan are mostly Buddhists. Hoping to see some Buddhist words/phrases in future updates.
