Sun shades for Paying Courts.

I was there for first time this week for 4 days. I paid $250 each for rod laver and Margret court to sit in the extremely hot sun for 5 hours. PLEASE PROVIDE SHADE OVER THE MIDDLE SECTIONS OF THE SEATING ATEA FOR THE PATING AREANS. I was so distressed after the five hours of watching the two matches in this extreme heat that it took away from the experience, and hope that you realise this needs to be rectified. Something like the players have over them when they sit down would be amazing. We are all warned of keeping out of the sun especially in the middle of the day reference to cancer and other aspects to one’s health. Please PLEASE action this blemish on an otherwise amazing event to come and see in Australia. Thank you for reading and hopefully heading this review.

Australian Open

Checked off one on the bucket list! The entire event has been amazing.

Thanks AO!

Bring back previous seating rule

I attended the AO with my two sons, on Wed 17th Jan. We had seats in Margaret Court Arena. I have attended the AO for many years but I am disappointed that the rules have changed regarding people entering the stadium during games without end changes. I found this very disruptive, and very annoying, when we were trying to watch a game. People in front of us stood up to let others pass them in the middle of a game! It was deuce and a tight match, and I found it very rude that others did not care about interrupting your view!!!
Please bring back the old rule of entering in seats at the change of ends only. Myself and my older son have been many times where we had to stand outside the stadium and watch the screen before entering. At least this didn’t interrupt others. Not all patrons wait for end of the games before trying to get to their seats! This was the most disappointing aspect of the AO this year. Please bring back the old rule. New rule changes don’t always improve things. And surely it can’t hurt patrons to wait outside for 2 games!!!

Great to filter out junior scores and results

Thank you to AO for the ability to filter out junior matches in results and live scores. Especially in early rounds, the scoreboard gets cluttered. I hope other Grand Slam apps follow AO’a lead.

What a frustrating mess!

I wanted to search a player who lost, some time earlier in the week. Enter the name and search. No results. Check parameters, have to tick women’s tennis, try again. No results. Start flipping through previous days until finally something pops up. …it’s 2024 and Google’s search engine has revolutionised search engines and usability. Get with the program.
I want to see who is playing tonight so I go to the schedule tab where they only list by court name and the schedule is filled with games that have been played today!!! so I have to scroll down, carefully looking to see which games have no scores. Ridiculous!

Please do better. Treat us like people who have zero experience with apps and design it so an idiot (maybe like me) can use it. Give it to your grandparents or great grandparents! See how they go.

App is great but…

The app is great and full of great information. Please add scores by set and who won the match at the end to your notifications. I like to follow and don’t always have time to go and search for the results I want. The US Open app does this and I love that. Thanks for considering.

Is there a dark background option?

App works great overall. Wish there was an option for a dark background. Especially,
When I check scores or the schedule of play at night, the light background is extremely bright at night. Would like the option for a light or dark background.

Then would give 5 stars.

Hi John, Thanks for the feedback - makes sense. We've passed this on to the team. Regards, AO Team

Great app for Melbourne’s Slam

This app is great for following all of the action in Melbourne. Match audio on the show courts is great, and the navigation icons on the bottom make it easy to get around and find information.

Response from developer

Thank you for that review and rating, concept barker. We're so pleased you're enjoying the app and tournament. TA Team

The PDF file of a draw is missing

A printed version of a two page PDF file of a draw is convenient to read and follow favorite players from one round to another.

Otherwise, it is easy to browse through the site and, the great improvement is introduction of Device Time Zone.

Response from developer

Thanks for that suggestion, Dedicated AO Fan. We'll pass that on to the app team. Cheers, TA Team

Unable to differentiate between each half of draws.

Last year I emailed Craig Tilley re the above and the reply from him suggested this would be evaluated for 2024. A colour coding either of the draw progression (even black for the top half / dark blue for the bottom half etc would also work). Nothing had been done to highlight the top from the bottom when you scrolling through matches to see player progression. Very disappointing.
