Don’t waste your money
I’m confused. The previous review seems to be talking about a different app! The definitions are very simple, usually just one word. Many, many words are nowhere to be found. Worthless dictionary.
Excellent Dictionary: Update
Very detailed and precise entries, helpful semantics, clear font, very complete. Zoom feature really helps you see the character well. Don't waste your money on cheaper dictionaries that can lead you astray with impractical, obscure, obsolete, bookish, and imprecise definitions.
Update: I found that you can add supplemental dictionaries in the iPhone under settings> general> dictionaries and then adding the respective Chinese keyboard. Doing this you can select any character on the ultralingua dictionary and look up the traditional equivalent character through the dictionary. The current app does not allow this feature on any dictionary entries so you may have to select it in the search field where it should work. Found out that by selecting any Chinese phrase you can get native speech of highlighted text. Going to settings>accessibility>voices gives you more native speakers to choose from

Please update for iPhone 6 Plus!
It’s a good two-way dictionary. Very trust-worthy.
Please update the app to fit new iPhones!
And could you have the app remember the latest use status when it quits? It’s tiring to manually switch to English to Chinese everytime.

Need to add the pronunciation
It's a good app of translate, but it will be great if add the pronunciation of every word.
Simplified search only
Nowhere in the description it mentions that it only give you results from a dictionary on simplified chinese characters.
Totally useless to look for words in traditional chinese. Shame they are not specific for a product this expensive.
How can I uninstall and get my money back

Don't purchase this!
The text is minuscule and there is no way to enlarge it. There is no copy and paste function. The numbers function is a joke. There is no way to personalize the set up. No results for tiantai (天台)or louding (楼顶)。 An extreme waste of money.
Not worth it
Doesn't contain a lot of simple words. Interface not the best. Was expecting much better quality for price paid. Ok for beginners of Chinese but extremely overpriced.
Not easy to use and lacking a lot of basic vocabulary.
We bought this to assist us in working with some of our clients who are native speakers of Mandarin Chinese. Our clients also have excellent English skills, and we have some fundamental understanding of Mandarin, and both we and our clients were amazed at how limited this dictionary was. It is frustrating to use - the interface is not very intuitive and is often confusing - and we were all surprised at the simple, common words that were absent altogether. There are many more affordable apps available that are as good as this and better. Sorry to say that we cannot recommend this app at all - it's not good value for money.

Best Chinese dictionary for iPhone!!!
I'm very suprised with the application. It's really amazing and helps me a lot. It is a must app for persons who are interested to learn Chinese. I also use Ultralingua's German dictionary and the both apps just make it even more great and help me during my language learning... I didn't face any probel with those apps and advice them to everyone

Not worth it
This App is ok, but not the best. It is not as comprehensive as I would like. For example, in Mandarin there is more than one way of saying 'week', this dictionary only shows you one way (星期).
It also shows you phrases using the characters you have searched for (this is good), but without giving you the pinyin. On top of this you can't select the characters from the phrases shown to search for them on their own either. This means you have to write the character down on paper, then copy it using the character drawing pad - which can be tricky on an iPhone if you're bad at writing characters, then you can search for it. You can select some characters shown, but only the emboldened ones (as shown in the first screen shot), which aren't necessarily the ones you want.
If you live in a country with free 3G/wi-fi connection that is fast, I might recommend sticking a direct link to Google Translate in your app menu instead. Less expensive, probably just as useful.
