What? No journey features? I just beat the game on Trainyard EX, after reading some websites I was excited to buy the full version to get faster trains so my phone doesn't have to be left on for days to see how long the journey I could create for my train. I estimated that I could get the train to travel well over 1 million, but the paid version eliminates the journey tracking entirely and the train is still super slow. Don't give me wrong, I love the game – – brilliant! A very big challenge to beat all of the levels, but I was just trying to take the game a little further. Thanks for your amazing work on this cool little game.
  • Great game

Great logic game, very very addictive a enjoyable to play but please fix a couple of bugs - 1) after completing roughly half the games, my iPad (and iPhone) now freeze each time I finish a game and I have to shut down my device each time. This apples to the free and the "paid for" games. The fact I'm prepared to do this each time shows what a great game this is. 2) after completing 2 of the 3 extra games in the express version, completed games no longer add stars to my score and never get stored as "completed" and so I can never move onto the next set of games.
  • Engineer me - Absolutely riveting!

Enjoying this a lot. Very different, clever, and fun. Makes your brain stretch, if you love trains and track layouts, get this!

    Update:
I've now done all the levels so what is next? Buy the full game for more levels and added options. Addictive, I've played into the wee hours of the morning because I think "just this one more..." but I keep going. Excellent puzzles, can't wait for more. Thank you for creating this interesting and challenging game. By the way I don't hand out 5 stars very often so you know I am very pleased by this app. (I am running OS 5.1.1 on an ancient iPad and it works fine, no freezing like others report.)
  • Great, fun game, but...

This is an awesome game that really racks your brain for some clever solutions. The only problem that I have is when I complete a puzzle, the game will freeze on me in the sense that I cannot press any of the buttons to move to the next puzzle or to go to the menu or anything. The sounds are still going and the light effects in the background, but it doesn't do anything when a button is pushed. I have to close the app after every puzzle and then reopen it to complete the next one. Please fix!
  • Frozen Screen

I don't normally write reviews, but I applaud this game for being very addictive yet education. It teaches you techniques and whatnot. for this portion I do give it 8 of 5 stars. But I have a problem...

Anyways, after completion of a puzzle when it says that I found a solution, no buttons seem to work. I would close out of the game, reopen it back to the welcome screen and it remains that I completed the puzzle and that i can move on. I believe this is a bug fix, and can be easily resolved. Am I the only one experiencing this? It can be annoying after completing each puzzle and closing it out and moving on to the next puzzle.
  • Difficult, yet fun

I usually don't write reviews, but I have been playing this recently and just had to write a review because it earned it. I find this very enjoyable because I like logic and strategy puzzles, and this delivers flawlessly. My best piece of advice for solving the puzzles is trial and error. Try something, change it, try something completely different and so forth. When I get iTunes money I will definitely buy the full version. I tip my hat to the dev. One of the best games I have ever played, hope this helped you decide!
  • Unbelievable Fun

This is the best game I've played in a long time. It's well written, no errors I've encountered so far, very well-thought-out, and endlessly entertaining. The object is to get trains from their start to their destination building and endless amount of track and switches to accomplish the goal. No scoring, just get it done! Also, you're not trapped on one level - you can go back and forth between puzzles, and create multiple scenarios and save them to try to solve. It's easy to erase and start all over, or just erase parts of a line. Frustrated? Go back through the tutorial, which is done at the same time you're playing, in other words, the tutorial in integrated into the game. This rocks.
  • Why I Love It

Updated review October 2014: With Trainyard, you have enough success to keep you confident, and there is enough challenge to keep you engaged. There are thousands of puzzle games out there. In my opinion, very few are as clever and satisfying as Trainyard (for adults anyway). Previous Review: LOVE the game. Enough challenges to be intriguing and enough successes to keep me coming back. I bought the full version and it is equally awesome!
  • Greatest puzzler ever

If you love flow then your going to want to get this app. Puzzles are simple at first (like they should be) but once you get into the game it puts a slight twist into it. They way you mix and match the colors (simple mixing but still gets tough) and the thought behind it blew my mind. Again if you have played flow (the dot connecting game) and thought it was too simple but still liked it a little then get this game. Nothing beats passing time like passing and smashing trains.
  • Makes you think hard but rewarding

Quick games, clever, fun but not addictive. The different factors you have to combine (timing, track switching, blending if colors) to solve the puzzles makes it very interesting.

I played this a few years ago and enjoyed it. Playing again now is just as fun as I remember. I love challenging puzzles but very few don't end up boring me after a short time. This one is different.
