  • App is “meh”

I downloaded this for a bike trip around the dikes of the North Sea. As well as being a real battery hog, there are a number of other deficiencies:
    - if there are more than 1 route between points, you can’t choose
    - if you do choose a different route than the “default” between points, you can’t adjust
    - no way to quickly navigate for the specific points you already went through on an in-progress trip
    - advertising keeps popping up and way to easy to accidentally touch it
    - can’t adjust an in-progress trip

Wouldn’t use again for my next trip.

  • Great app which can still be improved

I use the Plus version which is great value for the money. In general the app works very well and we got great use out of it during a 700 km tour around the Netherlands. Some areas for improvement:
    > When you skip a knooppunt while en route (for example due to a detour), the app tends to hang at the last planned knooppunt prior to the one you skipped. Sometimes you can force it to catch up by using the pause function, but that doesn’t always work.
    > There is no way to edit a route on the fly once you have started. Sometimes you feel like adding a spur or extra loop while riding, but editing is not possible.
    > There is no way to edit the middle of a saved route (even when not riding). You always have to delete knooppunten from either the end or (by reversing the route) from the start.
Despite these potential improvements, I like the app a lot. I love the integration with the web version.

  • Must have App for anyone visiting Holland to cycle or walk

This is an amazing app. Just wish the UK ahead a similar one. If you want safe enjoyable cycling on dedicated cycleways then visit Holland.
Don’t forget the Netherlands may be flat but it is also windy so take that e-bike.
  • Voortreffelijk app!!

I subscribe to the +Plus version in years I travel to Nederland for extra utility but the free version is very useful as well. A great way to plan rides and explore the wonderful nationwide system of marked bikeway nodes and routes through the Dutch countryside and urban areas. The free monthly newsletter is useful to subscribe to as well.

  • Excellent

Essential and very useful when making a cycling trip in the Netherlands.
  • Apple watch app please!

Works well but it would be great to have an Apple watch app that tells you which “knooppunt” is coming up, and what “knooppunt” to follow next!
  • Great app

Really useful in helping me cycle across Holland taking me on scenic and safe paths on the large cycle network. Highly recommended.
  • Great little cycle trip planning tool for The Netherlands

We are planning to cycle in The Netherlands soon, and wanted to map out a few intercity cycles. We have been able to use the maps, and plot out some trips between the cycle junctions, email the results to ourselves as a list of steps, and save some map routes. Some tools must be paid for, eg switching the direction of the journey, but these are not essential.

  • Fietsknoop

Simpele planner, makkelijk voor onderweg. Dank voor deze mooie app.
  • Works as well as the bike lanes!

This app works nearly as well as the actual web site does. A little slow on my 3G iPhone, I enjoyed having the maps with me on the phone as opposed to a wad of paper maps stuffed all silly in my bag, hands, pockets, etc. I do not have a data plan in Europe, so I took screen shots of the maps and just flipped through them usign the photo album app. Sure, I'd like an English version but not really neccessary. An off-line function would be very nice to have where the map is stored in the phone with zoom capability. I'd pay for that!
